Not all of that generation were caught up in progressive politics. If you were in the echo chamber, there were very few attempts to reach out to others with different views. Look at the treatment of the Vietnam Vets. They were traumatised by a very bloody war and demonised at home.

~ Follow-up Question:
What are the long-term consequences for an individual or a community when differences of opinion are suppressed in favor of uniformity?

Cancel culture where different opinions from left and right are attacked, has awakened the abyss

Unfortunately we do. Fundamental Christianity is tarred with the same brush fundamental Islam paints. Sin is in the eye of the beholder. Mind your own business. Fascism needs to be called out. Fascists oppressing people with the help of Trump's incompetent governance is your USA. Good luck.

You mean the old and new testament? What about beating your wives and slaves. What about stoning those who work on the Sabbath and are unclean because they eat bacon? What about becoming rich but unable to enter heaven.
Just a few. Face it Wycliffe wrote the Bible and got it so wrong.

No, but the character is a well-off wanker, quite capable of paying to get the roof cut off and fitted.
BTW i saw a 70’s music video with a XB ford with the same treatment. I had a 351 XC and was tempted…

The character is a well-off wanker in 1974. The Leyland P76 was Wheels Car of the Year yet, it may fit. It is going to be really really dependant on how Ronni writes them. Like a choice muscle car for then would have been a LC GTR XU-1 Torana. 😜

I don't think Jesus would approve. Definitely leftwing antifa Zionist who was tortured and executed by religious zealots of his faith. Seeing RW Christnazis waving the instrument of his execution and oppressing Philistines and women would piss him off mightily.

Give it time. When enough journos and media orgs get tired of the loud voices, and move, then it will happen.

In truth, from 2000 onwards and the rise of hypercapitalism will be thought of as USA's Dark Ages where the truth was obscured, Christianity destroyed all mention of humanist thought, and people were reduced to slavery to oligarchs.

That’s sad. Humility and pride are whips for the psyche. Exercise some compassion for yourself and tell yourself you did good. Find some peace and love and spread it around. Love you.

It’s the inability to store the excess that causes concern. Points to how stupid it was to privatise energy supply. Why isn’t there more public investment in stored hydro and other forms of energy storage?
