This is a needed thread. I've often had to sit with myself and think okay you are getting upset but you are wrong Suzan. It's painful but needed. I wish this was taught everywhere for everyone. Discomfort is important. Shunning it is not your friend, that helps you rationalize hurtful behavior.

When I was researching the flashback sections in Lessons in Magic and Disaster, I found so many upsetting examples of homophobia from the 1990s. A lesbian bar in Atlanta was bombed and people died. It felt as though nothing has changed in the past 30 years, the focus has just shifted to trans folk.
