Give it 3 years for the Houthis to get blamed for the collapse of Oslo

Fair enough on the love for cars--or lack thereof--but I would dispute that culture is only what we choose. Culture is the air we breath and what shapes our thoughts, wants, and behaviors, whether we choose it or not, imo. I have a hard not calling this car culture when our lives revolve around cars

Dozens of rapid response group chats where people report ICE sightings, warn their neighbors, and show up to document violence and prevent kidnappings

Every protest in LA for the past 10 days has a good amount of Palestinian flags and Free Palestine flag. People here are not forgetting Palestine.

A mix of both, but mostly LAPD

Nevermind let me leave y'all on a positive note. Passed by these two young people jumping and dancing on my way home and I had to stop. So much love and energy in this city 💪💛

This was LASD charging. LAPD was holding that line up until a few minutes earlier, then LASD took it over and charged.

It's 7:30pm and that's about when and the police usually starts entrapping people to prevent them from leaving and then catch them "violating" the curfew at 8pm. So going home now. I'll leave you with raw footage of cops shooting at people for no reason whatsoever. Peace ✌️ ICE must be abolished

Marquis from Quickies Cookies: "you can't fight fascism on an empty stomach"
comment in response to post
Couldn't get a hot dog because the police shot the vendor but these cookies are looking good

Still pushing us back ultra violently. A lady selling hot dogs got hit in the back... Psychos

Found a way out. We're now back in the street. Still a few thousands over a few blocks

Calm interlude over. They are pushing us out of the park using flashbangs and rubber bullets. But all exits seem obstructed by police barrages. Everyone is confused and unsure where we can go
comment in response to post
Calm interlude in Grand Park across from city hall. Again, it's hard to overstate how peaceful protesters have been today.

Just in case there is any doubt as to who is responsible for turning downtown LA into a war zone

Medical care for anyone hurt by the police. Someone gave me saline water after we got tear gassed earlier
comment in response to post
Since I shot this video 10 minutes ago they have kept shooting almost continuously

We're back to city hall. We're in the exact same spot as Wednesday when they entrapped and arrested protesters, except there are many, many more people now. The protest is a lot more peaceful too. Not that they care...

Just got tear gassed, alongside another few hundred Angelinos. There were clearly no provocation, protestor violence, or risk to the police. Just senseless violence to intimidate us

Charged without any discernable warning, trampled on people with their horses, total chaos.

Down the block, hundreds, maybe over a thousand cops: LAPD, LASD, horses, anti riot vehicles... Even when it's local "law enforcement" and not the national guard or Marines, you can tell they are at war against their own people.
comment in response to post
National Guard starts to push protestors even though nothing changed about the tenor of the protest. That's how it starts escalating
comment in response to post
The crowd is staying put. Still a ton of energy. Still 100% peaceful. We're seeing LAPD and the Marines getting busy in the background, clearly planning something.

Faceoff with the Marines in front of the DHS federal building

Who says you can't fight fascism in rhythm
comment in response to post
Just ran up the march to the front. The whole thing might be half a mile long, maybe more. Police only observing and blocking highway entrances so far.

LA showed up

Thousands and thousands of people. All ages, all colors, all backgrounds.

“They took my cousin. He informed them he is a US citizen and his passport was in his pocket. We don’t know where they took him.” This isn’t about deporting undocumented immigrants this is about going after people who are not white!

We know it all, but it still fucking sucks. If it wasn't enough that we're funding and arming those stealing their land and destroying their homes, the US is managing to also censor them and prevent them from telling their stories. Shame on us, shame on us. 8/8
