I get it for the big rivalries but it's just constant with any domestic side these days.

I blame social media primarily

Four really great games. There’s a huge amount of negativity about the current era of football (in terms of off-field stuff, much of it justified) but the technical/tactical level of the top-level matches is outstanding.

I might have not explained it properly. It's not about controlling emotions, I agree he's fine with that, it's how he explains defeats and setbacks when asked in interviews. Maybe it's a language thing, but I feel he doesn't quite get it right in terms of protecting his team.

It wasn't until Bellerin started getting done regularly for foul throws a few years back that I noticed how common it is, and that refs just overlook it most of the time lol

A lot of managers do damage control in interviews and try and set narratives, I just think Arteta isn't that good at it.

Suddenly VAR wants to be really sure and factual 😂

Treasonous billionaires are driving the UK towards fascism just like in the US.

Now I'm mad again

The success rate is still high enough I think. Opponents might get wiser to it though.

I'd love this

That's a proper strikers effort at defending from Nketiah 😂

Love it when Elliot is the guest. I think these statement eps are right up his street.

Insane spending that much and none of it is for football reasons.

There's players out there hiding behind these factors and the manager drilling them on risk aversion imo. Too many on autopilot because the opponent is forcing them into anything.

We always show them too much respect. Several players are on autopilot because Utd aren't forcing them into anything. Just not good enough.

Felt our general play was better this half than Leicester but there's still not much threat in the final third. Merino done okay, I'd like more from those around him.

Rodgers, clearly

I still remember the days when I enjoyed their coverage. You'd find better quality in your local these days.

A lot of what we saw in 22-23 has been coached out the side

Signing Kai set us back

We're too risk averse with our buildup. I think some of it is the manager and some of it is a mismatch in profile from positions you need risk in.

Dunfermline's is the ultimate version

Maybe I’m just taking my frustration with dogmatic managers out on Postecoglou. Feels like we have so many coaches in the game today living in this post-results reality. You’re a football manager, not an artist doing a residency. If you can’t win games with Plan A, come up with a Plan B.

"He's the three or four" doesn't really have the same ring to it though

Been a long time coming too. I'm shocked how they've sorta sleepwalked into it.

Omg is this THE Eddie Longbridge 😲

I'd say there's been a shift since MLS has come in, in the sense the LHS has good dynamics and we're attacking down there again, but it's only 2 games. And today it didn't lead to enough threat.

I don't like this small pitch Clive. This team doesn't have an even coverage of players who are adept at the intricate play. Lock our right side down and you stifle us.

It frustrates me mostly because I know we can struggle to create chances. Just one goal feels like a massive task.

A marketing tool. Hence why Perez loves him.

Even so I felt we were fending them off by that point. Penalty was huge because we struggled to keep the ball.

Second came shortly after a stonewall Southampton pen was ignored. Lucky Liverpool.

Or maybe City have loads of problems beyond missing Rodri

Sloppiness aside, we're awfy slow and risk averse. Wonder does Rodgers have Wednesday in mind.
