My head is squarely on my shoulders and when I don’t feel centered, I feel overly sensitive and stressed. I take breaks when I feel overwhelmed and anxious. It’s good for us during these not so normal times.

according to conservatives on the court, the constitution does not protect your right to your own body but does enable the government to ship you off to a foreign gulag without any hope of return

once again, public libraries as key infrastructure. I really really really want leftists and progressives to take public libraries more seriously as institutions. Part of that means you have to get involved in actual GOVERNANCE.

It breaks my heart when I hear black kids joining the military because they don't have options. We don't need more mentally broken, used and abused black folks. Many fast food restaurants and retailers offer tuition assistance. Go to community college. Choose Education. Choose Yourself.

It's an easy cop-out to think trans people are responsible for our own oppression, because if that was the case, it's something we could have control over and remedy. It's a lot harder to reckon with the reality that a coalition of right wing groups are spending extraordinary money opposing us.

This is one of the reasons I act so childlike. I NEVER GOT TO BE A CHILD. I WAS IN FIGHT OR FLIGHT AND DISSOCIATION FROM SUN-UP TO SUN-DOWN EVERY DAY UNTIL I WAS NEARLY 24. LET ME BE CHILDISH AND SILLY YOU MONSTERS. No, I don't care that I'm almost 30.

Amen 🙏🏾

Happy Solstice!!! ☀️ Today's the official first day of Summer and the longest day of Summer, let's govern ourselves accordingly! Today's prompt might have y'all repeating some former choices; that's ok! For Day 20 of the #BlackMusicMonthChallenge, share a song that sounds like Summer. ☀️🕶️🏖️

Yesterday I went outside and smelled our roses and hot damn they smelled incredible

AMEN

“If you cut Medicaid, you’re cutting me.” This young man with Down syndrome says it all. GOP senators want to gut the care that helps him live with dignity. Watch. Listen. Share. Then call your Senators and demand they vote NO. #DontKillOurMedicaid

Trump's plan to cut Medicaid isn't about saving money - it's about giving MORE tax breaks to billionaires like Elon Musk. Meanwhile, people will be forced to choose between medicine and groceries. Who does this benefit? #DontKillOurMedicaid

That was my last advocacy post online. I will RT posts and post about my offline advocacy/clean air projects but I have spent five years campaigning and nothing has improved. So I feel it’s crucial at this point we turn to tangible projects because the government is doing nothing.

The New York Times covers trans issues the way Fox News covers ICE protests. Both lead the country to believe there is a conflagration by highlighting a few fires over and over, while ignoring the fact that most people just want to live their lives without the government in their faces.

The NYT’s big profile on Skrmetti is centered around a genuine factual error, accusing the movement for trans rights and ACLU specifically of being behind the lawsuit, when it was the Biden administration. It’s literally in the name of the case, US v Skrmetti.

the thing that kills me about all this the thing i can’t think abt without breaking down is that we all have this kid inside of us right, pleading for help from the ppl we loved & we trusted, & most of us never got it but we should have, & our kids should, & instead it’s just more needless suffering

The New York Times got exactly the ruling they were asking for for transgender people. From their “news” article on the ruling:

One thing I am seeing misreported in the media today about the Skrmetti ruling is a claim that the supreme court ruled this is "about age, not transgender status." SCOTUS also ruled this is about "diagnosis, not transgender status" Bans targeting adults are likely legal under this ruling.

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s law banning doctors from providing essential health care to transgender youth. It’s a deeply disappointing decision—one that history will judge harshly. Take Action: www.eqfl.org/2025-stand-w...

FINALLY Democrats are putting out HARD-HITTING ads. WATCH AND SHARE: #MAGAKidnappers

Duckworth to Hegseth: "You are blowing through money like my fellow cadets and I did in our first liberty after basic camp. Luckily I didn't end up with a questionable tattoo ... you're just an unqualified yes man who can't tell the president how to keep Americans safe."

Hey Chuck, this decision rips health care away from Americans

All i can think reading Skrmetti is that this generation deserved so much better than the world they were given. They will grow up not having seen the arc of progress but the decimation of their planet, futures, and rights. I am so, so sorry.

The sheer level of logical contortion required to say that banning trans care “doesn’t exclude any individual from medical treatments on the basis of transgender status” is truly mind-blowing.

Every trans person I know supported the decriminalisation of abortion. In contrast plenty of “feminist” “protecting women” “women’s concerns” “gender critical” transphobic bigots opposed it. Transphobes use “women’s rights” as a cover for transphobia. They don’t care about women’s rights.

💔

People fear disability Capitalism and ableism teaches folks that disabled people are “less than” Doomed to be left by the wayside “Better off dead” As a result the general public is terrified of becoming “one of us”. We are a minority group you can join at any time. Support disability rights!

Melissa Hortman was only 55 years old. She had a lot more to do. It is so bitter and so sad that her life was taken - assassinated for fighting for what she believed in. It will now be up to us to carry on these fights.

Senator Alex Padilla gives an emotional speech on the floor. He discusses his experience of being detained by agents while trying to ask Kristi Noem a question about immigration policies. He also was escorted by a FBI agent & a national guardsman who knew exactly who he was but stood by silently.

Its #LGBTQIAEqualPay day! CAP data shows LGBTQI+ women lose over 39k a year and Black LGBTQI+ households lose over 33k. We have to fight back against this administration that is destroying every right and enforcement institution on the books. www.americanprogress.org/article/the-...
