anyway that's my rant. i give it a solid 4/10 at most.
do not take my word as law. i'm some random furry on the internet who played it and formed his own opinions. if it's your favorite, i'm glad! i do really hope you enjoyed it as much as i did! i just. felt like they could have done SO much better

funny enough, all this being said, i enjoyed the fuck out of this game. probably the most fun i had with mh in a massively long time.
i don't know. wilds just felt so. soulless. like they just wanted to test forcing bad optimization and not putting the heart into this game the series deserves

and for the love of god can we PLEASE move on from behemoth. it was cool ONCE. y'all can do something new, i know you can. aggro lines and hide behind the rock mechanics are just lame at this point. once again, this isn't final fantasy.

like i absolutely turned my brain off on a tempered hunt with a weapon i used maybe three times? and it was dead in 5 minutes without me even paying attention. there was like. no challenge whatsoever.
and do NOT take that to mean i want another world alatreon/fatalis because those were HORRIBLE lmao

not to mention how... trivial the game felt despite how much of a SLOG the story was. 8 minutes of cutscenes and autopathing for one single hunt, then back to another 12 of cutscenes that did nothing for me in the slightest.

after finishing the game i stopped and looked back and said "...that's it? now what?" which i have never felt finishing a mh game. i looked back at all my gear and saw like... everything already maxed despite only ever hunting MAYBE 3 of something max?

performance issues nonwithstanding (i admittedly didn't have too many, aside from a couple VERY notable exceptions and being plagued by crashes), the story was by far the most atrocious thing i've ever seen attempted in this series. we're here to hit things with a hammer, not solve a ff plot lol
