So which one is your favorite route?

Irrelevant to what item you get, maybe, but I wouldn't call it meaningless. It's a delightful little animation that makes me happy!

It's 30 super fast matches of my team against random people online, meaning my team can win against 96.67% of people. I think luck, RNG, and the fact that I can't protect against every status ailment make it unlikely I'll get 30/30, but I'll keep trying.

Is any of this necessary to beat the game or even to get 100% completion? No.

It's important they be IN THAT ORDER, because, in post-game, when I can buy tinctures to raise their agility caps by 100 at time of synthesis, I can fuse them with Nature types who have parents of Nature and Undead types. Then the grandparents will be Slime, Beast, Nature, and Undead, in that order.

It takes sixteen monsters to start with not only because of the skill trees necessary but also because there are bonuses if a monster's grandparents are different types. In my case, I decided that my Metal King Slimes will have grandparents from Slime (obviously), Undead, Beast, and Nature types.

I keep track of the now-only-sixteen monsters in that same spreadsheet I mentioned above and by giving them the names 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d. The idea is to fuse them so that the next generation will be 1ab, 1cd, 2ab, 2cd, 3ab, 3cd, 4ab, and 4cd.

I found a guide today on how to build a team of four Metal King Slimes to farm XP in Coach Joe's 5-star dungeons, so I was compelled to catch not only those 4 slimes, but 12 other monsters to fuse with them to give them the right talents, plus a dozen more tiny monsters to get everyone's sizes down.

It's not too late to learn! I believe in you!!

The bsky-sized answer, if you yourself don't know, is "Yeah, it's fine, it takes place in its own world and has its own story separate from all the other games, but it's full of references to the older games, so it's kind of cute/fun if you know them."

My coffee prep radiates powerful lonely bachelor energy, I'm afraid. I use a kitchen scale to pour 3-4 grams of instant coffee crystals into a 16-ounce glass jar, fill with hot water from the tap, microwave for 30 seconds, stir with a metal straw, and drink. I just can't justify getting a machine.

I have a cup of black decaf every morning because I've become addicted to the taste. But maybe if I quit for two years, I'd feel differently, like how I stopped being able to stand soda when I quit that for only four months...

DQ9 has a similar class system that I adore, but the random dungeon maps kind of ruin that game for me.

DQ6 has really fun characters, a compelling plot, and a killer ending (especially the postgame boss's ending), and also is SUPER grind heavy, letting you learn all classes with all characters, including a postgame class and recruitable slimes who can also change classes. I love it.

It was sweeter than I expected, since it's basically like putting jelly on a turkey mozzarella sandwich. But still good, and something I've wanted to make since October when I first started planning on getting my air fryer toaster oven.

Glad to see Blissey still has a tiny face (not sarcasm)

Now I'll take a little break by playing Dragon Quest 3 on Switch, that is, not the HD 2D remake. I'm starting with a party of 2 Thieves and a Priest, because I like Thieves. I once had a similarly complete save on an Android phone, but those saves don't transfer and they're gone forever. So it goes.

The worst part is I'm not even a huge watcher of Nebula. I listen to @probsnotaliens.bsky.social on Spotify every week even though I'm a subscriber, because I just don't need new episodes early. But there are a few creators who only post videos there, and it's good to support them, I guess.

So I bought the lifetime subscription and will spend the next five years angrily waiting for it to become cheaper than if I'd waited until next month to get a $60/year subscription. Don't you dare shut down before then, Nebula.

I couldn't recognize Krysten Ritter despite watching every episode of Jessica Jones. I had to Google her name when I saw it in the credits because I knew I knew her from *something.* That made me feel a little bad.

True fact: before breakfast on Friday I had the thought "Is today a Friday the 13th? I wonder if Phen drew something for it." and then you did, both here and on Patreon, which was the only reason I even recognized a Friday the 13th last time. I'm being trained to associate these things.
