I had the same thought. Same situation economically but peasants are under the illusion they are more free.

It is because it is successful that it must be stopped. The right cannot allow government successes because they want to destroy government. Their conceit is “govt can’t do anything” so they have to prevent the government from doing anything to continue their ruse.

A plurality of voters but not of citizens. Cold comfort I know but important to remember.

The point is government cannot be allowed to work in their world. If it does people might expect more of it.

More grace and empathy, less attacking and feigned outrage please.

He is hoping for the optics of a shutdown under Biden and t rolls in and “fixes it.” Pain and suffering of innocent federal employees et al be damned.

Nice! Hoping to get out there between now and early January.

Political parties have far too much power. We get to vote in the general and feel like we are the ones choosing when the biggest decisions have already been made for us.

Ok thanks will do. I admit to not trying very hard or competently. Agreed with the hashtag bit. I have seen posts where the photo caption had a tenth the character count as the 20 accompanying hashtags.

I also don’t see a whole lot of urgency in the “diminishing” department. They are throwing in the towel when it comes to judges, etc etc. There should be an intense aggressiveness when I see shoulder shrugs.

They have been too soft I agree. And I listen a lot. Still quite good and has a lot of great content, but not direct enough. We need more fearlessness such as from @toddzwillich.bsky.social

I have to say I love how often “thanks for the kind words” is coming up on Bluesky posts such as this. How wonderfully refreshing.

Just saw it. With my 13 year old
Daughter. So good! Incidentally, Linoleum was excellent. Congrats!

Just watched it again the other day. Still great. I have a coworker that just got a Shih Tzu puppy so I think about it all the time now.

Agreed. More likely it was worth a try to see what he could get away with.

Nice when that happens. There is a Paul Simon song about that very thing “Something so right.”

To also be painfully earnest, it really does come down to just being fairly nice and forgiving to pretty much everyone. Cringy I know.

It would be nice to embrace sincerity and honesty. That really is the only long term option if we want real and permanent change. The rest is junk food.

There is a tendency on the left to conflate criticism with critical thinking and intellectual independence. The urge to find at least one thing to vocally disagree with even if you are 99% on board is strong.
