The 8th May has been marked as VE Day since before Trump was born. VE stands for Victory in Europe. As for the First World War, the idea that some Yank who refused to serve in the military, will command people around the world not to call it Rembrance Day is laughable. Sod off.

It is always a good day when you learn some thing new. I had always presumed that the small worker bumble bees you saw in spring were young. And so they are because they are the first brood raised by the Queen all by herself with limited food sources hence the small size and they remain that size.

Meanwhile while weeding a corner (that I step over daily) I upset a nest of paper wasps, one which stung me as I observed them trying to see where the nest entrance was. Big mistake for them. Carbaryl is very effective. No movement now.
