Agree. Also, the point is not to make MAGA vote Democrat. The few independents and Republicans who see through Trump's authoritarianism can make the case that the separation of powers, rule of law, blind justice, free speech, and pluralistic democracy are what truly make America great.

I guess what should really surprise is how long it took this country to mimic China and Russia. It was nice while it lasted.

When you aggressively assert executive power to change the content of museums to make an ideological point about how great America is, you may just be fundamentally misunderstanding the whole ideological point of America.

The entire Trump administration assumes that MAGA are essentially idiots and will believe anything. This scandal may be the one in which a hint of realization begins to seep through to some of Trump's base that the emperor has no clothes. Not that it will change their support for him, however.

MAGA elevated Trump as their tribal totem. They can’t separate their own interests from his. Because they assume these interests are synonymous with the interests of the nation, they undermine pluralistic democracy and enable (even require) authoritarianism.

Graham is not known for his moral consistency. You will find his values scattered in the wind.

We've been fooled by too many Westerns, Disney, and Marvel movies to expect evil to present itself as evil. But, to be honest, Trump, Vance, and Musk are about as close to actual super-villains as we get.

How many humiliating absurdities will Trump make Republicans swallow before they choke to death?

It turns out there are good reasons to never put your faith in an amoral narcissistic sociopath. They were warned!

I'd also like for them to learn that their fellow neighbors are not their enemies. That to truly love America you need to respect the legitimacy of both your political opponents and our democratic institutions.

If you think you are striking a blow against racial discrimination by firing a general who is black and replacing him with a less qualified general who is white then you just might be doing it wrong.

The Republicans are now completely morally bankrupt. Trump just broke them. They are just a shell of what might have once passed for decent public servants.

Gosh. If only there had been something that could have warned the country about how ugly things would get with another Trump administration. I don't know, maybe something like an insurrection, a couple of impeachments, a national political campaign, and an election.

What sort of democracy do you live in where a "poll" on X is used to justify ANYTHING?! What a joke.

It will forever be the greatest of all ironies that the people who thought they loved the country the most were ultimately the ones who put it in its greatest peril.

Dude, there is no "Green New Deal." And Biden increased domestic oil production to record levels. And the "open border" lie is insulting to the hard work of our Border Patrol. Finally, your examples are not nearly equivalent to the point I was making. But thanks for playing.

If the tables were turned and Biden had disavowed any influence on his policies by a liberal think tank and it then became clear that he'd cut and pasted the think tank's work into his executive orders, Trump would be calling for impeachment.
