yeah this is like daring him to follow through on his brinkmanship for the sake of mockery. as if its hard to mock a 70 year old man that wears a pound of bronzer on his face every day, among other things.

I think Trump is establishing that there are many incentives for authoritarianism for presidents and for capitalists. There will be no incentives to reestablish lib dem norms without overwhelming political demand. It's not happening imo

its funny cuz a lot of the usa's issues would be addressed, at least partially, if they were canadian provinces. universal healthcare, gun violence would drop by 99%, and a multiparty parliamentary system.

10s of millions of radicalized american voters. huge problems. dont think people understand it will take a generation + to recover from this, and thats if it all stops today.

Over 130,000 Canadians signed a petition to grant asylum to trans Americans. There is a lot of concern here about what's going on in your country. Stay safe!

Polling at 43% some how after basically ending the rule of law, screaming fascist slogans for years, and erasing all market gains from the last year in a week. Many millions of Americans are clearly on board w all this. Huge problems.

USA demanding trade partners subjugate themselves completely to USA wealth transfer. The old bargain of "gut your social protections and lower your corp tax rate and you can make some money with us" is now "give us everything or starve". Moreso for peripheral + developing nations, not competitors2/2

The implication being that not only should countries give structurally adjusted favourable market conditions to the US corps at fractional costs, but that these states should also be forced to somehow muster the same volume of purchases from US businesses with their currency against the USD 1/2

You guys are going to need a second republic... if you can get out of this situation.

The implication that the US is being ripped off, or trade protections were unfair, says the goal of these people was to supplant even more non-US capital and wealth and transfer that to US companies. It's actually totally out of control and grotesque. US robbed everyone already. They want everything

I'd just like to point out that due to the SAPs that were put into place during neoliberal globalization, developing nations were actually restricted from insulating their societies from American capital. Enforced anti-labour regulations and tax rates to guarantee American business. 1/2

Bc they have ceded to Trump's dominance of their party and, more importantly, society. His relationship w paramilitary groups... J6 looked like an error, but J6, and then full pardons sent a clear message to ntnl politicians that Trump would protect this wing of his support. It was his winning play.

The tariffs are an abuse of presidential emergency powers, no? Hence the fentanyl lie for tariffs against Canada.
