I picked up a Huion Kamvas 13 (gen 3) as a “portable” option. It’s not a stand alone tablet. You need a pC/Mac. I’ve been using it for about 10 minutes, but I think I love it. It’s $240 on Amazon and the pen is better than my Cintiq 27 Pro. Color is great out of the box. Really impressed.

Some of my dad's paintings. He's a traditional oil painter. He was my art school. I'd watch him paint over his shoulder. I can still smell the paint thinner used to clean his brushes.

I've colored a bunch of neat books in my career, but Spider-man and Wolverine #2 might be one of my favorite issues I've done. It's a love letter to comics from the late 80's and early 90's. I can totally envision an article on it in Wizard or Hero magazine.

When I started in the industry comics were 22 pages of art. Now they are at 20 pages and it still takes about the same time to complete. However, when a book goes over 20 pages now it feels like it takes an extra 2-3 days for every page over 20.

The last paragraph in particular is exactly how things work. I've been known to be critical about colorists taking low rates just to have work. It only benefits them immediately by securing a gig, but it hurts everyone in the long run.

Back in 2018 I got the chance to color “Edge of Spider-geddon” before Into the Spider-verse came out. I was excited to color Spider-Punk knowing he’d be in the movie, but extra excited to introduce Punk Hulk. Now I’m carrying teams with him in #MarvelRivals.
