To be clear, I left journalism because I was bad at it and a terrible fit for the job with my introverted personality. I never made it past unpaid internships

Shinozaki's Everyday Maintenance escalates incredibly fast from a quietish sliced of life about a magician's cafe to introducing characters like the Osama bin Laden of alchemy who's just following her bliss, and her bliss is being unable to stop dosing people's tea with alchemical PCP

You don't need to wonder whether everyone hates you if they actually hate you

I just don't understand the "proof for the existence of God" line that gets thrown out about both works. To me they're both about the nature of storytelling, though Umineko doesn't just go "believe whatever you want" but actually does the homework of showing truth isn't really truth

I definitely intend to check out Tsukihime at some point. It seems like one of the crown jewels of that early 00s golden age of doujin. Dizzying to think it, Touhou 6-8, and Higurashi were all coming out within a few years of each other

I'm mixed on T-M/Nasuverse. Liked Garden of Sinners. Was bored to tears by the Fate/Zero anime, but liked Fate/Apocrypha. I only know Tsukihime via memes and Neco-arc becoming a global mascot of weebdom on the level of Konata from Lucky Star, Chiyo's dad, and Hatsune Miku

Just guessing, but couldn't a gender disparity following the Revolution and the Napoleanic Wars contributed? Also the knock-on effects of the Revolution and subsequent regimes re: industrialization, early secularization of education, and latter affecting attitudes on women & pregnancy termination

I was going to feel bad for the early 4th of July week/summer vacation people who got tricked by Turok 64 weather, but then I realized most local tourists this time of year are microclimate refugees

At first I thought it was a teenager's attempt to sound out jongleur. Of course the real answer is much less poetic

That's what I mean though. Moe didn't die, it just IS anime and anime fandom now. The people who couldn't come to terms with it in the 00s have mostly left
