3am calls are scary! Thankfully it was my daughter calling because Kiah got her ass beat by a skunk. I grabbed quarts of peroxide, a big bag of baking soda & ran out the door. Mochi ran from me when I got back home🤣 Being a mom doesn’t get any easier when the babies become adults.

Working in the yard & garden have made it very plain. I am plump & out of shape, so I have given up sugar, processed snacks & bread/white four. Now everyone is offering goodies, donuts, pizza, & leaving snacks in boxes for me. I want them! A boiled egg is ok, but not a Boston cream or cookies!😫

Work was light, so I mowed a bit. A lot of the lawn is covered in standing water, so I put the kiwi, hazelnuts, heartnut & rosemary into the ground. The big girls are COATED in mud, happy & exhausted. The bedding is fresh, the dryer & the washer are running. I’m happy, but feel like I should do more

I have loved the library for as long as I’ve been able to go to one in my small home town. Reading well above my ‘level’ since 1st grade, I packed stacks of books home every week. Libraries are a balm to my soul. Now as an adult, being blessed with several libraries at my fingertips makes me giddy.

My daughter came over so Kiah could run off some energy in the rain, get my dogs coated in mud, & make fun of my new microwave because it’s huge. I told her they had 2 sizes, 1 cubic foot or 2.2 cubic feet, & I took the bigger one because it was the same price on sale, as the tiny one. She laughed

The new microwave is in, just harvested jerusalem artichokes are boiling on the stove, the last of my beets are roasting in the oven & pork tenderloin medallions are marinated & ready to grill. Cooking for just myself doesn’t have to be boring or unhealthy over processed crap.

A friend went to Bending Oak Permaculture and bought me a few paw paw seedlings while she got kiwi vines & fruit bushes. After work I picked up some additional plants, trees & bushes I was looking for! I wouldn’t have known about them without her, & I’m very thankful to have her in my life.

The peppers, tomatoes, tomatillos, potatoes, eggplants & parsley are in the ground! I harvested 30lbs of jerusalem artichokes from beds they don’t belong in & gave most to a friend who wants to start some & can the rest. I’m still tired, but it’s a good tired, a hard work, not depression tired.

Today my insurance refused to pay for my inhaler! I am in the middle of a prescription, but they told the pharmacist I had to get prior authorization from my doctor. Ummm excuse me, he WROTE the prescription & gave refills! Nope, I had to call in & get them to send a new one. Luigi is a hero.
