From what I read there is no evidence at all that Iran had enriched anything beyond 60% and that no one has any evidence that they were actively working on building a bomb. However, in today's world evidence and facts mean little even to our supposedly no nonsense PM.

This is a good article on why Iran went to 60% enrichment and why they want 20% enrichment. www.sipri.org/commentary/e...

PP is a lunatic when it comes to Israel, PM Trudeau was an avowed Zionist and Carney is pretty much the same. It's frustrating to say the least but it's where the two major parties stand. Firmly behind Israel, no matter what horrendous crimes Israel perpetrates against the Palestinians.

Our Prime Minister is singing Trump's praises over this. He's certainly not looking like a strong leader right now.
comment in response to post
He'll do it if Trump demands him to do it.

Jesus that was pathetic. Lol

He also thinks bombing nuclear facilities is an adequate response to tough negotiations.
comment in response to post
Apparently Carney is. Elbows up my ass. Lol
comment in response to post
Me too.
comment in response to post
Carney and by extension the Canadian government, have tactically approved the bombing of nuclear facilities, which is explicitly against international law.

Gotta maintain that rules based order.

We truly are the greatest destabilizing force in the world right now.

Not one Western leader has had any issue with Iranian nuclear sites being attacked. Or at least I haven't read of any yet.
comment in response to post
Will there be any condemnation by Western powers of the US attacking nuclear sites? I somehow doubt it.

What was the old adage the Hawks had, The boys go to Baghdad the men go to Tehran? Was something like that.
comment in response to post
IMO, this is what the US has always been but they dressed it up with nicer words and diplomatic talk. Trump has just ripped away the mask to show the ugly underneath.
comment in response to post
The scariest part is him listening to the military. They've been itching to have a go at Iran for years. The boys go to Baghdad the men go to Tehran. I believe that was their mantra in the 90s.

They call it foreign investment!! 😉

Also about keeping himself out of jail.

The helplessness the characters feel, the fact I wanted to be able to yell at them to make what I thought were the right decisions, the cruelty of a faceless, soulless state. The frustration and anger kept building the more I read.

I voted Liberal because there was no other viable option. I liked the idea of diversifying our economy. I knew that the environment and CC would take a back seat to pipelines and mines. I'm still unsure of the relationship with indigenous people and the stance on Gaza continues to be revolting
comment in response to post
He lost the leadership race but there were liberals that voted for him and he ran and won his seat as a federal Liberal. So your assertion about "all" Liberals is incorrect. But this is becoming a pointless discussion. Enjoy your evening.
comment in response to post
You can certainly believe whatever you like but to say every liberal falls into some neat little box that you prescribe to them is wrong and lacks nuance. Look at Nate Erskine-Smith's speech in the house and you'll see there are differences of opinion between liberals.

Incorrect.

Yikes. Hope everyone stays safe and the fire is kept under control.

It's why they hate TikTok. They haven't been censoring Israel's actions and letting Palestinians post what is really happening there.

That's not good.

Economically and strategically it is the right thing to do. Ethically and morally it is the wrong thing to do but ethics and morals don't pay the bills nor put food on the table. Just please try not to be hypocritical and preach to other countries about morality. It will just make you look foolish.

He can and very few will care.

I think I laid $37.50 for Summer Slam '93???? Def Leppard, Meatloaf, April Wine, Ugly Kid Joe, Sven Galli, Rawlins Cross and a couple more. Drank a lot of booze in the beer tent that day

It's eventually gonna get used. Can't justify all that spending without using it.

Seriously dude?? You know the answer to that.

I know a little about what is acceptable conduct during fighting but it is a little. I'll certainly look more into it.

Can a nation commit war crimes if there is not a declaration of war?? By international law? Would it not be crimes against humanity or state sanctioned murder? Not to cut the criminal government in Israel any slack, I am just curious.
comment in response to post
Are they at war???
comment in response to post
Yay!! I for one welcome the possibility of wars all around the globe!!!

They're the adults in the room, respecting institutions, sticking to political norms or any other idiotic reason they can come up with as an excuse to stand by and let their country slip into an authoritarian security state. As in all things Canada will be a decade or less behind . Lol

We are signatories to the Rome Statute so if the government says it's a genocide then they would have to charge anyone who was complicit in facilitating the genocide. They are not going to do that. Geopolitics and trade are more important than human rights to all Canadian governments.
