If the choice is “now” or “never,” probably never is preferable. If the choice is “now” or “after he’s had another year to purge anyone with a conscience from the military, DOJ, and judiciary,” we’re probably better off having it now.

I mean they are, something like 6% of the country thought Harris/Biden were too conservative it's not... *nothing*, per se, that's still tens of millions of people but it is not a winning coalition

Like, without an ability to glimpse into alternate realities, you have no idea the effectiveness of her campaign. Maybe in the reality where she tries to court progressive nonvoters she loses by more! "She didn't want to win" is the most braindead take imaginable.

Every incumbent party in the developed world lost significant voteshare in 2024. I have no idea why the narrative here is "Harris lost a layup" rather than "Harris' campaign couldn't overcome near-impossible headwinds" in the face of millions who wanted to hit the "make it 2019 again" button
