Wild take, but I like it, haha! That’s a great way of pulling apart the nuts and bolts and what makes them tick both within the systems as well as the players’ heads/

Maybe try unplug the external one? Not sure, but I’ve seen certain streams purposely black out the frame because the copy protection thinks you’re trying to send the media to something to record it. It can be frustrating.

*reseat, not deploy.

Is this on a computer? If so, it sounds like a DRM thing. This sounds weird, but if you have multiple monitors, try pull the window to a different monitor and/or deploy your HDMI connection.

Ah, I know his Rage is maxed out, but I wonder if he meant to pull that add in his AoE. He might tank more damage than he expects, and there’s no chance to leash to reset the boss and lose agro anymore. Then again, he’s the expert at this game, right? (-;

in the same period McGee received his $16,000, Musk became the richest man on earth, the real-life Mega Rich Light-Bending Guy, a man whose immense gravity bought the US government and whose royal chainsaw chopped down all of Sherwood. And this is how he treats his *friends* who build his platform?

I’m there too. I’m very much still living in a red-state Evangelical context but I’m increasingly concerned about how this all has shaped the Church. My local congregation has tried to stay apolitical.🤷 I love the Church, but here in the US, it is quite unwell to get to where we are.

I’m not aware of a specific video, but perhaps might be worth checking stuff from Kaelynn Partlow since she deal a lot with autism education, kids, and bridging the gaps between neurodiverse/neurotypical individuals.

Too many have been convinced, through a decade+ of fearmongering, that the power of Jesus is insufficient to meet the threats they see, and they need the power of government (and the violence it can bring) instead. It’s profoundly anti-Christian, and sad to see.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince us that anger isn’t an emotion. But also, emotion is always bad. But also, it isn’t emotion if I’m the one doing it. But also, that he doesn’t exist. Uh… I guess he’s pretty tricksy.

As much as I respect Miyamoto for the games he has been involved with, he sounds like he is hard to work for.

I was commenting last week that "Murder Hornets" is still a valid punchline with very little setup, and I'm wondering how long that particular joke will last. I suspect not very long.

I'm a big fan of the both/and.

It's truer than I want it to be. I'm not gatekeeping, but the live service model is... unfortunate in so, so many ways. There's thousands of worlds to explore, and so few are visited.

I’m feeling some Ps 73 today. The whole chapter.

Did you know Trump bragged about SA on a hot mic? Bragged! Crazy, bro!

The Onion is going to have a hard time topping that punchline.

The high ground in this case might be the trench from the Death Star trench run, but he didn’t drive his Star Destroyer directly into the station like last time, so…

Wait a minute… He knocks things over for no reason, hisses at anyone he doesn’t like, and you can’t tell him to do anything? You solved it! He’s a literal cat. Or maybe three cats in a suit coat?

Part of me hopes it happens. Maybe half of the right wing might finally wake up and realize we shouldn’t just be imprisoning people at the king’s whims, that this is a terrible way to run a country, that this was exactly what the Founders were trying to warn us about.

Definitely the second one. Most don’t even know who the leopard is or why a leopard with a freezer full of so, so, so many faces can’t be implicitly trusted not to eat just a few more.

Somehow, it seems like the right time for this project. Thank you, Matsuno-san, and thank you to all others involved in both the original FFT and this new version. 11/11

Final Fantasy Tactics became one of my favorite games of all time. Looking back I recognize what it taught me about empathy and perspective shifting, about how even pious religious leaders can manipulate and abuse trust, about the horrors of the wealthy and powerful oppressing the poor. 10/

We have yet to see where our current story - of the meager, the manipulative and subservient, of those that excuse any atrocity in the name of love - will end. So it seems fitting that Yasumi Matsuno posted this today when announcing The Ivalice Chronicles, a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics. 9/

In short, Ramza had a few parallels to a certain nerdy kid in 1997. While these stories aren’t the same, I know I’ve been shaped by Ramza’s story and inspired by his courage. Like Ramza, I’ve needed to sort some truth from lies, and have tried to challenge those liars. 8/

Ramza stopped fighting for those that used their privilege and power to grasp for more of the same. He began to take up the cause of the poor and the abused. He decided to find the truth, no matter what it may cost him, to confront the lies and the liars that manipulate the masses. 7/

And despite his best intentions, Ramza soon found himself in over his head, caught up in politics, struggles, and conspiracies he couldn’t possibly understand. After a certain tragedy, now a little older and wiser, he began to challenge his life’s narratives and rethink his place in the world. 6/

But he would find out eventually. He would find war-worn soldiers, hungry and desperate, deprived of their promised pay. He quickly came up against reluctant revolutionaries that would rather die with their dignity intact at the end of a noble’s sword than starve. 5/
comment in response to post
And then the world of Ivalice opened up to him. Ramza, the protagonist, was (a) noble in every sense of the word, well-meaning but somewhat arrogant, and he didn’t understand his own privilege in the world or what had transpired in his family’s history to lead to his position of privilege. 4/
comment in response to post
Fortunately, this nerdy kid wasn’t a *completely* lost cause, because once he realized there were controls available to put more than one unit on the battlefield, that he had a whole team of *five* people on his side he could be using instead of just Ramza, things progressed much more smoothly. 3/

That teenager then died repeatedly on the first level, giving up on this stupid new game as it was way, way too difficult. He was disappointed that this game didn’t live up to the experience of Final Fantasy VII. But after a day or two, he realized that he must be doing something wrong. 2/

Seems relevant. Wrong geolocation, but same idea.

They’re actually doing the NPC meme. So strange. I do *not* like that meme at all (I find it quite dehumanizing and I believe in re-humanizing people), but they are unironically *trying* to do the meme. It’s… unsettling.

Say, Sam, where do you come from that ended you up in this situation?
comment in response to post
How hard can it be to identify yourself? “Sure would be nice if someone were to buy, say, $35M of your meme coin, wouldn’t it? I’m sure that you’d like to meet with such an anonymous party and show your, uh, ‘gratitude’ in person, wouldn’t you?” *a single transaction shows $35M* Who could it be?🤷

I think I need a Star Wars sitcom now, all about the farce of the ISB. Basically the Empire side of Andor meets the Office. Make it a prequel and let Partigaz really go for it. And sure, throw Larry David in there too as a new recruit. Couldn’t hurt.

Not sure if you noticed (not obvious on mobile, especially), but in addition to the home page and executive summary, I found a lot more details in the sub-menus, including video and written accounts. IMHO, it’s likely legit.

If I’m not laughing, I’d be crying. :-/ In case it’s not obvious, I don’t think Senator Ernst provides a particularly good example of the love of Jesus. If this is what passes for evangelism these days… uh… yikes. Ma’am, I don’t want what you’re having. We Christians gotta do better. 6/6
