Well, anyway, thanks Google for helping me on this new less-consumerist path. Not getting a bunch of ads will help me continue to curb my non-essential and impulse buying!

Google underestimates just how petty I am. Fine, I won't use those features but that does mean I'll need to pare down the inflow, so I've unsubscribed from like 50 email lists. Big companies love it when you stop receiving their mailings, right?

In order to get Gemini the fuck out of my inbox, I had to turn off all of Google's "Smart Features." Not just a dumb-ass LLM but the promotions filters and autocorrects spelling. All of it. Apparently google is resorting to extortion: "Use are product no one wants or we make your inbox unusable."

You can do it! (She said with supreme self-interest because she wants to get her hands on this draft)

"Despite several users encouraging the CEO to activate the game's "Do Not Disturb" command or hide the chat, Musk allowed the bullying to continue. It remains unclear whether he knows how to use either of those functions." 💀

No one has ever been able to explain Bitcoin to me in a manner that didn't make me go, "Oh. It's a scam." And I've listened to multiple people try.

I think there is a plan. All the Yarvin acolytes whispering in his ear are doing this on purpose with premeditation. It's just a stupid plan by people who don't understand how anything works, even their own desires and motivations.

Did you know you can fax Senators for free? faxzero.com/fax_senate.php They prob won't read it but the way Gov offices are w/ tech there's a good chance they'll have to listen to the EEEEEEEEEEE fax shriek. If they're not going to do their jobs at least you can make it maximally unpleasant.

I realized today that there is no grand plan. These people aren't smart, they aren't strategic, they're just angry dummies who don't know how anything works and refuse to find out. This is bad and dangerous but also liberating. No need to look for the logic or greater goal because it doesn't exist.

Tbh, it's brought me a lot of comfort and given me a more confidence in fighting back. Yes, these are highly resourced, dangerous people but not brilliant strategic and long-term thinkers. We're fighting rich dumb-dumbs who don't even understand what they want. I'm not outmatched by these guys.

These people are open about the fact that they plan to destroy America intentionally. I don't want to discount how dangerous and cruel it is or how many people it will hurt. But they're also ignoramuses. Their understanding isn't better and their ideas aren't inevitable.

As a result, they have cobbled together a profoundly stupid plan based on a bunch of profoundly stupid assumptions and misapprehensions about how anything works that won't even get them what they want even if they do manage to achieve it. It is really this intellectually shallow friends.

They're not trying to destroy the world because they have some vast, superior intellectual or philosophical insight. They're doing it because they're highly-resourced dummies who don't really understand anything, including what the ultimately want.

But today, someone said something that made me realize that I'm not missing anything. It's simply a dumb plan! I've been struggling because I assumed these wealthy, educated people were smart and working with an internally consistent logical framework. But they're not.

It seems so obvious this will be Bad For Them Too that I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I'm not seeing. What is in their end game that I'm just not smart enough to see? What am I not getting?

Yes, they can be supreme autocrats lording over the surf class but, that bunker lyfe doesn't sound like a good time? Especially for the jet set. And climate change will still come for them eventually too.

In 2023 Target's CEO made $18.1M 10% of that is equivalent to 106,470 hours of work at $17/hr (the highest minimum wage) or enough money to pay for 51 full time min-wage employees for a year. Who is hurting working people again?
