a handful of marriages broke up because of it. and the lead pastors. and it was a close knit community so it did not go over well.
I told my parents I was surprised they stayed, but they said they had a good relationship with the lead pastor and everyone had been duped by this sociopath

so apparently one of the preachers (not the lead pastor) of their very small church plant (which is now the biggest church in town) was "counselling" women in the church. which ended up being sleeping with them. he was also a college professor and was sleeping with his students.
