First, the program I teach in is being suspended in preparation for closure. There has been a budget shortfall and we are a small program, and not the only program to be cut. It's sad and a blow to our community, but we do have a commitment from the college that we will be able to offer (cont.)

I have had dreams in Spanish in which I am talking with people who don't actually speak Spanish. However, so far I have only dreamed about ASL conversations with people who do in fact sign.

My dream self doesn't seem to know more ASL than my waking self. Most of what I remember from the dreams is in fact the cognitive effort of figuring out if I know how to sign a concept or if I need to fingerspell something. (one more)

.... (long enough that I no longer remember starting to do so), so it's interesting to take note of starting to dream in a new language. When I wake up after dreaming in ASL, I somehow feel like I've been using my hands and arms, which is an interesting sensation. (more...)
