And just to add to the insanity, Speaker Johnson is of course suggesting that Padilla be censured.

And of course Noem goes on Fox immediately and spins the blame onto the senator, rather than just apologize as a decent person would do.

In another video, you could see that they had him on the ground in the hallway and were cuffing him. So ridiculous and disgraceful.

And it's not like Trump, his press secretary, the rightwing media, etc. aren't going to just outright lie about what's happening anyway. Trump claims that "LA is burning".

Wow. Once upon a time it was unthinkable to so explicitly shit on a segment of the country that you supposedly work for.
comment in response to post
Once upon a time we considered even misdemeanors a pretty good reason to at least not vote for someone.

Apparently it does in America of 2025 for many people, especially if you're on the "right" team.

Welcome, Joe. It's the only sane, ethical choice anymore.

So tired of the "Russia hoax" hoax.

At least until we get a Democrat back in power here.

Thank goodness he's not a narcissist like that Obama guy was. 🙄

They had to destroy free speech to save free speech... or something.

Tapper is profoundly disappointing these days.

The "rightly" is wrong there, I would say.

"Lock her up" and "butter Hunter" ring just a tad hollow.

Sorry, the one you replied to.

...unless you come work for me.

You're correct, but I still wish there was some way to combat the rampant propaganda.

Post such nonsense once and I'll scroll by. Multiple times gets you a block.

What next, an expose of Hillary's email kerfuffle?

Especially when there are more important things going on right now with a president who is much more dangerous.

I'm not a fan of tricks in general, but yes, this seems like an important distinction in this discussion.

There are too many well-funded, malicious forces that don't want the latter to happen for it to ever come back, of course.

Imagine if all jobs were reported on in the same way? I got a "win" today by sneakily holding a meeting and not inviting a guy I don't like. (Made up.) I wish we could go back to government jobs being about civic duty and helping the people, instead of the lucrative bloodsport it's become.

Hold on... We'd love to help, but we just checked, and he isn't a Democrat.
comment in response to post
He's not a Democrat, so I'm afraid it's not.
comment in response to post
Oh, he just did a bit of government-wrecking, boys will be boys, I forgive him. 🙄
comment in response to post
And yet, now he knows, so maybe a follow-up question is in order?

The things you gotta do for money.... (They're all morally corrupt.)

All that matters is money.

Um, this will mean lower egg prices, right...?

Yes. That *should* be a low bar, but these are idiotic times we live in.

And take a paragraph to explain the ethics rules all of the rest of us play by for good reason.
comment in response to post
It ain't complicated, and in fact it's extremely clear

I was thinking the same example. Lucky for the king that commoner rules don't apply to him, as everyone who can do something about it apparently agrees.

Yeah... I think in Turley's specific case, he was actually speaking against some of the policies of the Bush admin (maybe torture/Gitmo or spying on citizens; it's been a long time). At some point he really turned to the dark side, though.

I can't believe I kind of liked the guy when I first saw him doing interviews maybe 20 years ago.

Or 1000 other things.

Common typo, it's actually Turlet

So they went with Trump after all? 😜

And every other topic....

What's up with these frogs who are used to seeing Trump act and speak like a buffoon?! I'll never get used to that.

🥂

That's been one of Trump's more disturbing moves, and that's saying a lot.

And that's not even a complete list!

Bravo, GB! (I grew up in Chatham, NY, and I think GB was the place we went once in awhile to a giant antiques place. In the '70s....)
comment in response to post
Yeah, and it's not just Trump making excuses, it's their entire media intake. It's why the rightwing bubble is so successful.

Imagine the reaction on Fox if these were Democrats.
