The only immigrant trying to destroy the country.

Just now when the dog sat on the remote and turned on the tv, I heard a midday news correspondent ask with an emotion tinged voice, “Is that legal?” and my only thought was, “Wait…what are they talking about that we’re still expecting ‘legal?’”

“Indeed, every adjudication of a felony conviction results in significant collateral consequences for the defendant, regardless of whether a term of imprisonment is imposed.” What’s that jaunty little jingle I’ve heard so often from conservative pals? Something about “If you can’t do the time…”

“This court should enter an immediate stay of further proceedings in the New York trial court to prevent grave injustice and harm to the institution of the presidency and the operations of the federal government.” Too late. Grave harm already caused when he became president.

It is the time to pay attention to what is waiting in the open spaces. Time to call the soul home and consult maps worthy of trust. Time to be here and present to the storm that is brewing and to watch for wonder and catch the light shining on the wings of flying geese.

Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are. ~ Augustine

happy new year

When nothing new can get in, that’s death. When oxygen can’t find a way in, you die. But new is scary, and new can be disappointing, and confusing—we had this all figured out, and now we don’t. New is life.

Remember, the time of year when the future appears like a blank sheet of paper a clean calendar, a new chance. On thick white snow You vow fresh footprints then watch them go with the wind’s hearty gust. Fill your glass. Here’s tae us. Promises made to be broken, made to last.~Jackie Kay, “Promise”

What is something you did this year that, upon reflection, wasn’t yours to do?

A reminder: If the holidays have taken a lot out of you, take time to rest. And then rest some more. Err on the side of rest! A thought that begins with “I really should” is not helping. Trust your body to tell you when it’s ready to work.

What did you love this year?

I’ll say good night now. I am sure many of you out there are like me, reflecting on how 2024 was and what you could have done better. Take a moment to also reflect on how you grew. Love you all. 💙 Give yourself a break.

This is the best image I’ve seen to explain to the average person why trickle down economics doesn’t work.

Mr. Rogers did not adequately prepare me for the people in my neighborhood.

Hi, Bluesky. So what’s it like over here?
