Well it was a bad day to put effort in a Meme unrelated to the news

Elon is crashing out in a way that is erasing hundreds of billions of dollars worth of value from his company.

hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha (breath) hahahahahahaha

funniest day online since the billionaire submersible went missing

Younger metal head friend: WHOA 1349 IS COMING TO CHILE Me: WHOA I'M IN. But I have no clue who those guys are and I’m not interested in them either.

It's just like Renaissance Italy, but with worse art, more drugs, and infinitely stupider princes.

I posted this explainer video to my Instagram and Instagram doesn't allow me to share it with anyone, the "Send" button is not showing. LOL.

You know, I refuse to believe any of this is genuine. Any conspiracy theory about this Trump vs. Musk meltdown being a cover for something less stupid and more sinister is fine for me. The world can't be this chaotic; there must be a secret cabal of lizard men behind the curtain playing with us all.

i'm gonna let it distract me

Shares of Tesla fell 14.3% on Thursday, as Elon Musk ramped up his public criticism of President Trump’s domestic policy bill. The plunge wiped out about $150 billion from Tesla’s market valuation. nyti.ms/4dVWWQg

Next to Trump and Musk, Shatner and I look like adoring newlyweds.

Seems like I overslept on my nap, did something happen in the meanwhile?

If you email me an obviously LLM generated email about working with me, you will not work with me

I'm not sure there was a single user on this site, including the gardeners and sports fans and Brazilians, who did not predict that Trump and Musk would have a messy divorce within six months.

This AI BS is making me Sadsad šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

You knew about Blaise Pascal’s Wager but did you know about PEDRO PASCAL'S WAGER? It’s always better being a kind and decent person, wether you’re famous or not #philosophy #pascal #pedropascal #ethics

It’s somewhat unfair that, while I will never know who the reviewer that evaluated my proposal and denied me the funds to do a visiting scholarship abroad, he/she most probably knows who I am (since I’m the only one actively researching on my very recognizable subject here in my country). Bummer.

Had a bout of nostalgia and went to check my saved tweets on the hellsite. Found this gem.

The program for this conference on understanding at UNAM looks amazing!

I feel seen

Kant's description of what metaphysics is--the spooky, haunted wing of the house of experience--and how it comes to be--irresponsible use of the understanding--is basically also the plot of Event Horizon.

An analysis of ~100,000 academics finds that a small subset of academics generate majority of social media posts. That vocal minority can skew how the public—and even journalists—infer ā€œacademic consensus,ā€ potentially fueling false perceptions. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

The letter came in, and IT'S A NOPE. No visiting scholarship for me (didn't get the grant). So, the next steps are: 1. Scream at the top of my lungs until I faint. 2. Regain consciousness and scream a little more. 3. Look for a teaching gig for the next semester. I will need it. 4. Curse humanity.

Age makes social lies hurt more. It doesn’t stop one from telling them.

He had blocked me elsewhere and I don’t think he is here, so I’ll ask: is Steven Pinker still beating his f*cking ā€œWELL, ACTUALLY, EVERYTHING IS BETTER NOW THAN IN ANY OTHER POINT IN HISTORYā€ drum?

Saw this little fella at a gift shop. Made me feel… [wait for it] …incomplete

I went to two record shops today. In one, an old metalhead was listening to Death and we talked about how much we still miss Chuck Schuldiner. Nicest guy. In the other one, I cracked a joke to the clerk, and he stared me lifelessly while he packed my stuff. It's important to enjoy your job, I guess.

Man comes to the US from Lebanon. Starts out delivering pizzas, becomes a Nobel winning neuroscientist. Trump freezes his funding, he gets an email from China offering to move his lab ā€œany city, any university I want" with guaranteed funding for 20 years. What are we doing?

This year I’ve been stuck in two moods: tired and mad, and tired and sad.

The capability to use abstract concepts such as ā€˜justice’ is a key part of human cognition. A Perspective in Nature Reviews Psychology highlights distinct levels of social interaction and conceptual flexibility in the acquisition and use of abstract concepts. go.nature.com/3SRY6SW šŸ”’

Now that the 2025 seasons of Doctor Who and The Last of Us are over (and finally watched both seasons of Severance), I'm considering *not watching any TV* until 2026. I have a lot of overdue writing goals to catch up with.
