Republicans’ reckless budget shifts the cost of federal food assistance onto states, which could force MN county commissioners to increase property taxes by over 5% to pay for them. Higher taxes in exchange for more hunger? This bill is a terrible deal for hardworking Minnesotans.

Just when I thought this bill couldn’t get any worse — Republicans now want to cut almost $1 trillion from Medicaid.

Today, we come together as a state and a nation to lay to rest Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their golden retriever Gilbert.

Today in Minnesota, we come together as a community to honor the lives and legacy of Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their beloved dog Gilbert. They will not be forgotten.    www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...

Internet isn’t a luxury – it's a necessity. I’m pushing the Administration to make good on its promise to invest in rural communities and ensure Minnesotans have access to high-speed internet no matter where they live. craig.house.gov/media/press-...

Farm workers aren’t just the backbone of our food system – they're the backbone of our economy. Today I met with United Farm Workers to discuss how we can provide stability, predictability and fairness to the men and women who get food to our tables at home and on shelves at the store.

The President campaigned on the promise of lowering costs. Instead, his trade war has put the squeeze on American business owners and stifled the U.S. economy.

Whether or not you directly rely on Medicaid for coverage – when rural hospitals are forced to close, everyone loses. Cuts to Medicaid will hurt our farmers, ranchers and hardworking folks across rural America. I’m a hell no on this reckless budget bill. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

10 years ago today, the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges decision guaranteed marriage equality in this country. A decade later, those rights are still under attack. I won’t stop fighting for equal rights for every American.

Today, House Republicans turned their back on our nation's veterans by passing a bill that will gut funding for veterans’ education, food assistance, health care, housing and more.

SNAP and Medicaid keep hardworking Minnesotans fed and healthy. Today, I met with Feeding America to discuss how we can protect these vital programs from Republican attacks. This fight isn't over yet.

Firefighters risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe, and this often means exposing themselves to harmful carcinogens. Today I met with Fallen Firefighters Survivors to talk about how we can make sure firefighters facing a cancer diagnosis get the care and benefits they deserve.

Caregiving is a full-time job – and it’s time we start treating it like one. It was great to sit down with AARP Minnesota today to discuss how we can provide hardworking Minnesotans who care for their elderly relatives with the resources and support they need.

Today I rose to honor two incredible Minnesotans and friends – Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark – for the people that they were and the legacy they will leave behind.

As Republicans try to pass their One Big Ugly Bill through the Senate this week, I sat down with Scott County Commissioner Barb Weckman Brekke and other MN County Commissioners to discuss how we can protect programs like SNAP and Medicaid that Minnesota’s kids, veterans and seniors rely on.

Three years ago, the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority overturned 50 years of precedent in the biggest rollback of women’s rights in my lifetime.

It’s just a fact that elected officials have access to information that the public doesn’t, and it’s time we start holding them accountable for using it.

This bill gets a higher price tag every day. Make no mistake – a budget bill that adds $3.4 trillion to our national debt will bankrupt our country and raise costs for the middle class. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/17/u...

The Iranian regime’s nuclear program is one of the greatest threats to the U.S. and our allies, and I remain committed to ensuring Iran never possesses a nuclear weapon. Like many Minnesotans, I believe we must avoid another costly war in the Middle East that will risk American lives.

Just when I thought the Big Bad Bill couldn’t get any worse, new provisions in Senate Republicans’ budget bill will take away food from veterans, seniors and kids aging out of the foster care system. And all to fund tax breaks for billionaires. thehill.com/homenews/sen...

Tonight, Cheryl and I joined our fellow Minnesotans at the State Capitol to honor the lives of Melissa and Mark Hortman. As we mourn the loss of two incredible leaders and friends, we are finding strength in community. The Hortmans’ legacy will not be forgotten.

Today’s decision is a blow to families across the country. Extreme Republicans have tried to convince you they are the party of parental rights. Where are they now? These decisions should be left up to families and their doctor. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

In trying times, we hold our loved ones close and this weekend is no different. This Father’s Day, we recognize all the fathers and father figures in MN-02 and across our state.

Entire MN Congressional Delegation Joint Statement on Politically-Motivated Shooting:

I am devastated to hear of the targeted shootings of State Senator John Hoffman and House Speaker Melissa Hortman. They are great public servants and friends. And today’s news is shocking.

When our home-grown businesses succeed, Minnesota succeeds. It was great to meet with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce yesterday to discuss how we can support Minnesota’s local businesses and ensure our state economy continues to thrive.

The Iranian regime’s nuclear program is an existential threat to the U.S. and our allies – particularly Israel. Last week, the international watchdog agency declared Iran to be in violation of nuclear program agreements. Weakening Iran’s nuclear capabilities makes the region and world safer.

Welcome to Washington, New Prague Middle School! It was great to meet with NPMS students during their visit to our nation’s Capitol. Go Trojans!

Manufacturing Rx drugs in America strengthens our economy, creates jobs and gets life-saving meds into the hands of Minnesotans. I’m reintroducing my bill to support prescription drug manufacturing right here at home – not in China. craig.house.gov/media/press-...

My statement on the Republicans’ catastrophic recissions package:

As this Admin continues to wage attacks on our states and state governments, I’m proud to stand alongside @governorwalz.mn.gov in this fight.      Governor, it was great to have you in Washington today representing our great state.

Congratulations to this year’s Congressional Art Competition winner: Alice Yi from Lakeville South High School! It was great to welcome Alice to the Capitol yesterday – where her painting of Minnesota’s rare blue sucker fish will be displayed. Alice, thanks for making MN-02 proud!

For decades USDA has supported family farmers, stopped the spread of animal-borne disease and made sure our food is safe to eat.   But under this Admin, farm programs are being frozen, animal health experts are being fired and our food system is under attack.  I’m pushing for answers.

It was great to meet with Minnesota Farm Bureau today to discuss how we can continue to push for smart trade policies and help Minnesota’s family farmers feed and fuel our great state.

Too many families have known the pain of losing a loved one to an overdose – and we need to provide our law enforcement officers with the tools they need to detect and intercept illicit fentanyl. I won’t stop fighting until we get this done.

No one is safe from this Administration’s attacks and funding cuts – including nonprofit and charitable organizations. Today I met with the MN Council of Nonprofits to discuss how we can best support the nonprofits that continue to serve Minnesotans.

Today marks the anniversary of the Equal Pay Act – a major step in the fight to end gender discrimination in the workplace. Almost 60 years later, the gender wage gap still exists at almost 15%. We’ve got to do better.

The President’s unwarranted attack on NPR and PBS is just another attempt to silence the news sources that report the truth about his disastrous policies. And the people who suffer? The everyday Americans who rely on public media for critical news and educational resources. Shameful.

It’s past time to clean up Washington and make sure your elected officials are focused on public service — not personal gain. Last week, I reintroduced my bill to ban Members of Congress from trading stocks, and I won’t let up until it’s signed into law.

In MN-02 alone, Republicans’ budget bill would leave 15,363 individuals without health insurance. It’s easy for them to ignore all the hardworking Minnesotans their bill will devastate when they’re busy digging themselves deeper into the pockets of America’s wealthiest corporations.

As if taking away health care and food assistance wasn’t enough, Republicans are now going after the program that makes higher education a reality for so many students – especially in rural communities. It’s just another heartless attack on America’s most vulnerable. rollcall.com/2025/06/03/t...
