I'm not sure what's flooring me harder: that this is a real video, or that this isn't an isolated incident

That's an entirely fair point, and thematically you're absolutely right. In retrospect I should've said that wall-ride/rail-grind are core *mechanically*. MK8's antigravity had the distinction of being the core gimmick both thematically *and* mechanically, which made that comparison a little muddier

It's all good, I read your intent loud and clear

With that said, I *am* now seeing more people push for a more "proper" solution by requesting a "classic" online mode instead. If there's any silver lining to this, it's that there's a very real possibility that MKWorld would've never gotten this pushback if the random exploit was never changed

I see where you're coming from, and if that was the only gimmick of MKWorld then it'd probably not be as much of discussion. However, I'd argue rail-grinding and wall-riding are just as core to the game; those elements are featured much less prominently in the intermission tracks, if at all

This is a classic case of gamers generally being really good at identifying issues but really bad at identifying solutions. I'm glad pushback is happening so the need for 3-lap online is better highlighted, but it'd be SUCH a waste for the solution to be a random revert and nothing else
comment in response to post
That's a reasonable assumption, but it actually goes against the precedent of MK8. That game was the first time standard online had a pre-selected pool of stages, so random served as more of a "none of the above."

The open world revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for Nintendo franchises

I have zero stake on the recent MKWorld patch, because I've been content playing offline & finding goodies in the open world. But it's always refreshing to see those rare moments where the Nintendo community is actually united on something, so I couldn't resist playing along

If we're talking those suckered by Jill Stein, that's one thing. However, Biden actively *protected* Netanyahu from consequences & his administration treated student protestors as criminals for supporting Palestine. While I don't AGREE with those who didn't vote Dem, let's not pretend it's so simple

Under ideal circumstances, they'd overlap 1-to-1; we are a far, FAR cry from ideal circumstances

Aww, and the credits are a scrapbook of memories laid out over the map used to take that roadtrip. That's absolutely adorable. STELLAR first impression for the Switch 2 as a whole

This has to be the most decked-out OST a Mario Kart game has ever had, right? Not just in quality, but the QUANTITY of songs is unreal. The main menu has multiple different themes it shuffles through like a playlist, which feels fitting for the "roadtrip" Mario Kart

If this game is any indication of how UI will be handled moving forward, I'm all aboard. It keeps most of the minimalist conveniences of the Switch's UI, while bringing back some much needed color and personality

I don't doubt it. From what I gather, this game has a terrifying amount of collectibles

MKWorld finally downloaded, so I did the gentleman's thing to do and immediately jumped into 150cc. I'm already blown away by the presentation. Look how much justice they did my boy

Oh that stinks. I don't know any of the nuances about regional variants/distributions of apps, but hopefully there's some fallback options available for them

Oh thank GOD they streamlined the screenshot upload process

While the system transfer was happening, I watched a comparison video between Switch 1 & 2 showcasing the Scarlet & Violet performance/visual changes Christ almighty, these were never meant to be Switch games youtu.be/oX5AH6WqOiQ

Already, the downgrade from OLED to LCD is glaringly obvious & incredibly disappointing. That having been said: everything else feels like a straight upgrade. Tactilely especially; most comfortable a Nintendo system has felt in my hands. The joycon redesign is incredible, and shockingly sturdy

For posterity to anyone sharing this hyper-specific scenario, here's the command to run in an elevated command prompt: powercfg -requestsoverride process obs64.exe display Excluding "display" reverts the settings. Other overrides not recommended, as sleepmode mid-recording is understandably buggy
