My office is here to help with immigration casework for constituents with open immigration cases. Make sure you, your family, and neighbors know your rights in the event of an encounter with an ICE agent or another immigration enforcement agency. More info here: simon.house.gov/services/imm...

The President's attempt to try and take control of California's National Guard to deploy 2,000 troops is reckless and dangerous. He's sowing unrest and chaos -- and trying to distract from the fact that people have basic rights to counsel and due process. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Excited to announce over $91 MILLION in federal funding for scientific research, infrastructure, and climate resiliency projects in the East Bay.

SEIU President David Huerta was injured & arrested today for simply exercising his first amendment right during an ICE raid in LA. How Huerta was treated is horrific and the increased terrorization of immigrant communities is unacceptable. I join SEIU CA in calling for Huerta’s immediate release.

Eid Mubarak! Wishing a joyful Eid to all who celebrate. May this Eid bring you and your loved ones peace, hope, and strength.

June is Gun Violence Prevention Month - meanwhile the Trump Administration is cutting funding for gun violence prevention and interruption work for groups like Youth Alive in Oakland. Make it make sense. I spoke on the House floor this morning about how we can’t stop this critical work now.

Trump sent a recessions package to Congress trying to claw back over $1 billion in already approved funding for public radio and NPR. I grew up in Youth Radio in the Bay, my late husband was a journalist - non-partisan public radio is critical for both rural and urban communities across the U.S.

I joined my CAPAC colleagues in demanding more answers from Secretary of State Rubio on his plans to revoke visas for Chinese students. Many individuals come to the U.S. seeking better opportunties and become rich contributors to their communities - we should not demonize this.

The Republican Budget Reconciliation Bill will add $2.4 trillion to the deficit AND leave 10.9 million people uninsured in 2034. apnews.com/article/cbo-...

🚨 Tonight the House of Representatives UNANIMOUSLY passed my bill - the “ThinkDIFFERENTLY About Disability Employment Act.” I spoke on the House Floor about my bill, and how I came to Congress to bring more people to the policy-making table.

I am deeply saddened by the horrific attack in Boulder. We must do everything as a nation and in our local communities to condemn this hate and commit to building a nation where no one has to pray in fear or walk in silence.

This week, I visited three amazing, innovative, next-generation technology companies based right here at home in CA-12.

Berkeley and Emeryville! Thanks for showing up and showing out for our town halls this week. Thank you to everyone who shared your thoughts and concerns - as I return to D.C. next week to continue opposing the Administration’s cruel cuts, your stories will guide my work and the continued fight.

Great energy for our Emeryville Town Hall tonight! Can’t wait to hear everyone’s stories and thoughts!

Hosting my 6th town hall in 5 months tonight! If you can't join us in person in Emeryville at the Emeryville Senior Center - follow along on CSPAN at 6pm PT / 9pm ET! www.c-span.org/event/public...

So few people who make laws for the poor, have been poor. I testified against the Republican reconciliation bill last week. Republicans are pushing harsh work requirements— but not creating the infrastructure for good jobs with sustainable LIVING wages or health care. Make it make sense!

Proud to be represented by the one and only Congresswoman @replsimon.bsky.social , and she tore it up last night at the #berkeley town hall! And thanks to all the staff - federal, state, and local - for doing the Lord’s work!

Berkeley Town Hall Energy! See you in 30 minutes for our town hall. Grab some community resources and a question sheet on your way in!

Upcoming town halls! 📍Berkeley! See you tonight at 7PM PT at the Ed Roberts Campus for the next stop on the CA-12 town hall tour. Doors at 6:30. 📍Emeryville! See you Thursday at 6PM PT at the Emeryville Senior Center. Doors at 5:30!

This Memorial Day, we honor and mourn the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up their lives for our freedom. Their service, sacrifice, and bravery will never be forgotten.

We’ve lost a giant. Congressman Charles Rangel was a war hero, a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and a fearless champion for justice. He fought for the poor, stood tall for Harlem, and shaped the conscience of Congress. May we honor his legacy in how we serve. Rest in power.

Today marks five years since George Floyd's death. Floyd's unjust killing sparked a global uprising that led to police reform agreements and needed conversations about unconstitutional policing and civil rights violations. We cannot forgot Floyd's life and must continue the push towards justice.

Five years ago, the murder of George Floyd sparked a global uprising. As calls grow to pardon his killer, the fight for justice and accountability must continue. www.politico.com/newsletters/...

I joined Rep. Hank Johnson in introducing the "Stronger Communities Through Better Transit Act" which would help provide more frequent bus and rail service, prioritize services for places with existing poor service, and improve transportation equity. hankjohnson.house.gov/media-center...

On what would have been his 95th birthday, we honor San Francisco's iconic Harvey Milk: a pioneer for LGBTQ+ rights whose courage gave hope to millions. Though his life was stolen in a vile act of hate, his legacy lives on in the fight for equality, dignity and justice for all.

Devastated by the killing of two staffers outside of an American Jewish Committee event in Washington, D.C. last night. Antisemitism and violence have no place in our society. My heart breaks for Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky's families and loved ones.

This morning, I voted against the Republican Budget Reconciliation bill. To constituents in CA-12, I will continue to be clear on the status of this bill as we fight it in the Senate and on the impacts to communities in our district.

Today I proposed two amendments to the Republican budget reconciliation bill to 1) protect access to reproductive health care and 2) protect our federal workforce & SNAP. Republicans tried to sneak this bill through in the dead of the night. Dems have been here since 1am holding up the bill.

In the House Rules Committee, about to testify and oppose this horrible Republican reconciliation bill. Republicans started this meeting at 1am last night and are trying to push the bill to the floor today. Dems have been here since 1am FIGHTING BACK. Watch here: www.youtube.com/live/b9FdGjs...

Heartbroken to hear of the passing of my colleague and Oversight Ranking Member Congressman Gerry Connolly. He was a dedicated public servant and steadfast champion for federal workers - but more importantly, Rep. Connolly always led with kindness. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

Republicans are trying to make final changes then jam through the reconciliation bill and send it to the House floor for a vote today. One of the changes is speeding up work requirements for Medicaid. I joined @aijenpoo.bsky.social and @repnikema.bsky.social to debunk work requirements.

This week, @domesticworkers.bsky.social are on the Hill organizing against the budget reconciliation bill. I joined @aijenpoo.bsky.social to break down the Republican budget reconciliation bill and the devastating impacts for American families.

I stand united with @housedemocrats.bsky.social in support of @replamonica.bsky.social. We are not intimidated by the Administration's attempts to deter Congressional oversight.

Rep. LaMonica McIver was carrying out her constitutional duty and conducting lawful oversight at Delaney Hall. The baseless charges against her are the Trump Administration’s attempt to intimidate and silence Members of Congress and ANYONE who speaks out.

Devastated by the passing of my friend Federal Glover. Federal was the first Black Supervisor in Contra Costa County, a dedicated public servant for over two decades, and a loving family man. His leadership lifted us all up. My love goes out to Janis, their children, and grandchildren.

This morning, the first aid trucks entered Gaza after a three-month total blockade. Last month, I urged Dr. Yechiel Leiter, the Ambassador of Israel, to resume the flow of aid into Gaza and reiterated my support for a renewed ceasefire and hostage release deal to end the war.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of Head Start. Trump has said recently he will not make cuts to Head Start, and I’m fighting to make sure he sticks to that promise. Cutting Head Start is not efficiency - it’s breaking the bones of our nation and stopping futures.
