#PacBio and Chulalongkorn University announced a newborn screening research program using HiFi WGS in Thailand—the first in Asia Pacific at population scale. The study aims to show how genome-wide data can improve early detection of rare, treatable conditions. Details here: bit.ly/4jD0TuV

About NSF’s new(est) bulletin - 15% indirect cost rates will kill universities. Apparently that’s the point. I am sick.

Close to home. Go Miami!

#PacBioPRISM 2025 in Athens is a wrap — and what an unforgettable few days it’s been! Thank you to everyone who joined us. Together, we’re shaping the future of genomics. Congratulations again to our award winners—celebrating this community is always a true highlight. #PacBio

We’re proud to announce the PacBio Compatible partners sponsoring #PacBioPRISM 2025 in San Francisco and Boston. If you’re attending, don’t miss the chance to connect with these industry leaders onsite and explore how their technologies support and enhance #PacBio sequencing.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the #PacBio booth at #AACR25! It was a great week of conversations around cancer research, long-read sequencing, and what’s next for HiFi. We’re proud to be part of the progress.

And really nice press release by @reginafairbanks.bsky.social www.amnat.org/an/newpapers...

Have you heard the news? @pacbio.bsky.social is expanding their methylation detection capabilities. Look at epigenome variation alongside your HiFi reads with no additional prep necessary!! Also…if you haven’t heard of Fiber-Seq…look it up. Forget about ATAC-Seq and start Fiber-Seq(ing).

Excited to announce the winners of the 2024 SMRT Conserve Grant! 🌍🔬 This year’s grant supports endangered vertebrate species research with #PacBio HiFi sequencing + Hi-C. Thanks to all who applied—we're proud to back such vital conservation work.   Meet the winners: bit.ly/41QrBIQ

I didn't know PacBio maintained its own curation of sample/reference datasets. Saves me a bit of trouble of hunting down reliable ones for a pipeline testing: www.pacb.com/connect/data...

NEW: HiFi now brings Hi-C to #HiFisequencing with CiFi. Traditional short-read Hi-C falls short in repetitive and low-complexity regions, but #PacBio HiFi delivers with superior accuracy and lower input needs. bit.ly/4b8k10m #AGBT #AGBTGM

This looks extremely promising and it works with smallish amounts of input DNA. Why? Because it applies long range PCR amplification with 'polC' (KOD Xtreme™ Hot Start DNA polymerase) that we investigated in depth here: genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.... #PacBio #HiFiSequencing #PCR

In honor of #RareDiseaseDay this month, learn how #PacBio HiFi sequencing is transforming the #RareDisease landscape for researchers like @childrensmercy.org. Blog here: bit.ly/3XbaMa7

Are you attending #AGBTGM? EpiCypher will be there, and we have some exciting chromatin mapping tech to share! How to find us: 🧬 DNA Methylation & Multiomics: Poster 447 on 2/24, 1:30-2:30PM 🧬 Long Read Seq: Poster 404 on 2/25, 4:45-6:10PM 🧬 DM if you want to set up a meeting!

We’ve passed 260,000 strike cards! We understand that people are tentative about signing their strike card. Here’s some info to help with that. drive.proton.me/urls/HZR5333... bsky.app/profile/gene... beautifultrouble.org/toolbox/tool...

I ❤️ Jonathan! Think of the things Jonathan has lived through. Fun fact: 192 years ago in 1833. The first enzyme was discovered and such was dawn of biochemistry….now we are out here sequencing Jonathan’s whole genome and methylome…

🧬🧪 Breaking news - EpiCypher will be developing Fiber-seq enzymes, kits, and services! First off- what is Fiber-seq? Fiber-seq is a method developed by the Stergachis lab, that allows users to map chromatin accessibility on long-read sequencing platforms. (1/n) www.genomeweb.com/sequencing/l...

Hi-C users, the wait is finally over! 🙌🏽 CiFi now enables Hi-C with #HiFisequencing. Short-read Hi-C struggles when it comes to repetitive and low-complexity regions. #PacBio HiFi rises to the challenge with better accuracy and lower input requirements. Congrats Megan and UC Davis team!

The 200k signatures goal has now been met and exceeded! 💪 Protests are a great time to build trust & community within all of our coalitions. Get out there if you can, share what you know with someone new, and trade web & social contacts!

"As #longread sequencing is more often used in #microbiome studies, we anticipate that our findings will open new dimensions to characterize how gut bacteria adapt to various stress conditions and host interactions using #epigenetic mechanisms." #PacBio 🧵 1/5 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Hi-C and HiFi…the perfect combination! Very excited for @mydennis.bsky.social to introduce the world to CiFi. Well done! I know a lot of people have been looking forward to this! @pacbio.bsky.social

“V3-V4 #16S rRNA sequencing was sufficient for genus-level analysis. However, V3-V4 sequencing was shown to perform poorly at the species-level, this study demonstrates using full rRNA operon (16S-ITS-23S) sequencing performs much better at this level.” #PacBio 🧵 1/3 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

With the new #PacBio Ampli-Fi protocol, you can now sequence genomes with as little as 1 ng of DNA! Paired with our #HiFisequencing technology, it provides a powerful solution for assembling high-quality genomes with exceptional accuracy. #PAG32
