5/5 russia doesn’t need peace. It needs chaos and confusion.
And in the chaos of a Middle East crisis, it sees a chance to:
- Divide and weaken the West
- Strengthen its economy (higher oil prices)
- And keep the war in Ukraine going, on its terms
