Calmness is ALWAYS the proper response.
And then you choose your element.

Come 'round my house. Weed, booze, and anti-trump has been in the air since before 2015. He's always been an asshole. We are and love immigrants.
We are LA. We are America. Fuck Trump and his cabinet.
I know the real America.
Come and take me.

It has always been my honor to serve my fellow Americans
I shall continue until my dying breath. Thank you. And please carry on the good fight.

P.S.- foremost guy with the 25th ID patch appears to have ZERO rounds in his magazine.
comment in response to

Yep. And (except for the guy with the 25th combat patch) they're 17-25 years old. The NG is gig economy for alot of them. Humanize yourself and everyone around you. Make their young minds think before they "do".
comment in response to
post
I politely disagree.
These young men and women CAN be reached. I've done it.
Right now, most of their morale is low. They (for the most part) don't want to be there. Don't scream platitudes at them. Speak to them plainly. They're young and impressionable. Be a mom. Be a dad. Be family. Speak.
comment in response to

Jenny, as a veteran, I believe you are completely mistaken about the NG. They are your neighbors.
Psychologically make it hurt. But realize, most of these NG guys are quite young and don't know any better. Educate them without hurting them. Pull them to our side.

ANGELENOS!!!
Talk to the troops when you can.
Give them water. Food. Help thearm.
They don't want to be there. Talk to them. None of us are enemies. We are their friends and neighbors.
Soft power.
Be nice.

Hegseth & Trump have effectively silenced any dissent in the military.
I'd like to believe things are going on off the rez.
We'll see.

Now I'm in my home country, where I was born.
There are almost 50% of people IN MY COUNTRY who may like to see me dead because I support the document we were founded upon.
Where are my other veterans?

It's funny (not) that the regime could end ALL OF THIS by simply pulling ICE out, announcing it, and backing off.
But it's a big dick contest and Trump can't allow himself to concede for the will and betterment of the people.
We must go harder.
comment in response to

That's the sad thing.
Alot of the law enforcement now is post 9/11, post GWOT.
All they know is occupation.
And line troops are all rookies who missed a war.
The "testosterone" is too high for the things they were clinging to and the MIL didn't do anything to deprogram them.
comment in response to
post
Since the "war on drugs" in the 80s-90s. Even worse since all the GWOT kids got hired during and after the "War on terror".
comment in response to
post
It's worse than you think:
50s-60s: a revolver, a stick, handcuffs
80s-90s: covert ballistic vest, semiautomatic pistol, stick, spray
2010-now: full 4a tactical vest, semiauto pistol, taser, stick, spray, etc.
Switch from shotguns to military rifles.

And MAGAs are also currently showing videos of the "Trump convoys" from 2020, alleging they're headed to LA.
The misinformation needs to stop.
We are a lost as a country and will fall because of division that this regime did not cause, but politically ascerbated for their own gain.
comment in response to

It looks like a typical troop bored with the bullshit. 90% of time I spent in Iraq, troops looked like this. And that was because only an extremely small % of Iraqis wanted to actually kill us. I don't believe ANYONE in LA wants to KILL troops. So these guys know it's all bullshit. Send them home.

This. Is. Fucking. Ridiculous.
Two fucking hours?

Minor point, but the tint on those windows is obviously against CA law.
Just begs the question, why is the law different for them? Bullshit.

Blatant violation of CA law...by law enforcement.

Something like 1 in 6 Marines is latinx, 1 in 12 Marines nationwide is from SOCAL.
This Marine deployment to LA is...unwise of this regime.

So you're saying not to even try. Don't bother with a peaceful idea that could cause hesitation for violence, sew dissent in the ranks, or have them object to orders. Got it. Carry on, then. Good luck.
comment in response to

Yes. Feed them so they're not hangry.
Get them a place to sleep so they can make smart decisions. Speak to them about their responsibilities to the Constitution and fellow Americans. Keep them off the line and sympathetic.
Soft power.

Newsom should be down there talking to the guardsmen, finding a place to billet them, and securing food and water. If the DOD won't take care of them, the state should. And then, keep them off the line.
comment in response to

CA law states that even if federalized, coordination of their activities must be with and through the governor.
If DOD won't do basic logistics, I'm sure he could find a way.

Prick needs to abstain from voting for the BBB then.
But that would require ethics, principles, and balls.
comment in response to

So you're against Newsom using soft power in an attempt to keep them out of the fight and make them more sympathetic to the cause of anti-fascism. Got it.
comment in response to

You don't need guns for a peaceful protest either. Once guns are involved, it's no longer a protest.
As for my being a dick...
That's just like, your opinion man.
Abide and good luck.

They're technically Newsom's troops. Keep them from facing down fellow Americans. Show them DOD doesn't give a fuck about them but their fellow citizens do.
comment in response to

Limiting the definition of 'invasion' will help Newsom's NG filing. Also will be relevant for future abuse of the Insurrection Act and/or Posse Comitatus.
comment in response to

Tell me, theoretically of course, how YOU plan to do that and have any chance of survival much less victory.
Money, transpo, supplies, logistics.
How many shooters?
How many in support?
What's your strategy and tactics?

Once more for the people in the back:
WHY ARE YOU ASKING UNORGANIZED AMERICANS TO BE MARTYRS AND TURN GUNS ON OTHER AMERICANS?
Yes, we have guns.
No, it's not yet time to use them.
These are the same things MAGA is begging for on the other site.

2/7 Infantry.
Authorized for ±800 personnel. (HQ/support co, 3 maneuver co's, heavy weapons co)
I'd guess they're leaving heavy weapons & some support back at Pendleton.

Funny, but also not.
That looks better than alot of what active duty troops MUST pay for in the dining facilities on base.

This whole movement against fascism tends to demonize a whole lot of the people they say they want help from. I don't get it.
