It's not Vienna, but we had fun in Mainz at the Christmas market. 🙂

I'm sorry you had to experience racism in Europe. In general, people in larger cities tend to be more tolerant, & in smaller settlements are more xenophobic because they are not generally exposed to many strangers.
Education can help to fight racism & that's what I do.

Yes, we really enjoyed our time there.
This is the town of Ehrwald at the foot of Zugspitze.

Near Innsbruck - Berwang, Zugspitze, Plansee.

Thanks! It's absolutely worth visiting. There are also lots of castles there which we didn't visit, since we have a bunch of castles back home in Rhineland.😁

I'm from Germany and plan to stay here. :)
My daughter got a 10-year visa for the USA a few months ago and wanted to visit her friend who studies in New York, but now she reconsidered. No visiting USA under Trump.

That's nice. We were in Tirol, which is close to Germany, so no strong accents there. :)

In Tirol, the village is called Berwang, we also drove around the Zugspitze area and made a trip to Italy: got there on our third try - two passes (Reschenpass & Timmelsjoch) were closed, so we went through Brenner Pass (toll road).

We didn't go to Salzburg, drove around in Tirol and made a trip to Italy.
I'm a German, but Americans are generally treated nicely in Europe, unless they disrespect people. We don't stand for collective guilt imposed on individual people for the actions of their government they might be against.

Yes, there are many hiking trails in Tirol.

Border crossing in the EU is as uneventful as it can get. 😁 Nobody cared as we went from Germany to Austria to Italy and back several times.

You can also get that in any mountain town/village in Austria, Switzerland, or Italy. I was happy we got this view - from the houses deeper in the valley, the view would have not been this great.

Thanks, we were happy every time we looked out. What about the buildings makes you sad? They are all in great condition and have typical Tirol architecture.
Been to Mt. Baker, W. State before - different vibe to Austria.
We definitely do not plan to visit USA as long as Trump is in charge.

Yes, it is. In the winter, this village is a ski resort. It is the highest settlement in the Tirol Zugspitze area at 1336 m.

No, but we saw some goats, ponies and sheep on farms. And we met a wild chamois.

We don't have a yard and don't need to do any yard care.
