“Candidates aren’t tailor made to your liking” - they tried to run a sex predator against a guy who wants to tax billionaires. Fuck right off with this shit.

Older generations have this wild expectation that younger people should just choose the malignant potato they like because otherwise the fascist will get in charge. That’s not how you energise a voting base.

The entire government is flagrantly ignoring the courts and law. This is a mess created by the SCOTUS because they refused to protect the Constitution and chose to protect Trump. There is no enforcement mechanisms available to the courts to force compliance unless the US Marshals revolt.

the President must be a natural-born citizen per the Constitution, and Mamdani is an immigrant that gained citizenship in 2018, so he is not a natural-born citizen

the Democrats are as baldfaced and exploitative as the Republicans are and I think BOTH are on the way out, or at least the status quo over the last 25+ years will be shaken up so much that no establishment Ds and Rs or left. We deserve a party made of Zohran Mamdanis and Kat Abughazalehs

Reason #4 that i don't think we can vote our way out of this: the aristocracy also controls all major political infrastructure, including party leadership, ballot access, and polling location availability through networks of career pols who depend on that funding for their various reelection bids

Reason #3 that i don't think we can vote our way out of this: Oligarchs own every major media platform and will always use them to manufacture consent for their interests, which are counter to everyone elses

Reason #2 that i don't think we can vote our way out of this: The institution holding the opposition space against the openly fascist ones consistently feigns powerlessness in the face of authoritarian GOP initiatives but shows all its teeth when a muslim who wants busses to be free runs for mayor

Their poorly delivered point is that these folks who showed up to No Kings often go home and do nothing else after. Days like No Kings should be networking opportunities where concerned people and mutual aid/political groups find each other and join forces to do more than just rally.
