Instead of extending it, the City of Toronto should announce the cancellation of next year’s Doors Open Toronto, and then later say that it’s back on, just as a way to curtail demand. The people who think it’s still cancelled will stay away.

The launch for the book I most recently went to won’t have a tour, since it (the book) has 4 editors. I did get all 4 editors to sign the book, it was at a cool brewery, I saw a friend there, and I awkwardly introduced myself to a mutual follower, so I think that means it was good.

Maybe early-to-mid-2010s? I’m getting all the references to events sprinkled in, without ever naming names. The latest is a notorious New York Congressman (no, not the 2020s one).

I did not fall in love with Montréal, so I will not be moving there. My next trip planned is in March of next year for a concert. That is, unless she rolls through Toronto before then.

I guess The Welikia Project has been around for a while, but TIL about it.

What project should I donate to so I can help get The Welikia Project but for Toronto (The Tkaronto Project) off the ground?

Anyway, it’s weird to read a novel in which the narrator works as a support engineer for a tech startup in the mid-to-late-2000s (the decade), when, well.

I added “Sunset, 1989” and “Everything’s a Miracle” to my “Skips” playlist.

I’ve thought about offering my headphones to people listening to something without them, but I’ve done it exactly zero times.

What? No way. Being at ease is a feeling that’s so powerfully overwhelming that I have to remark about it, I guess. (I don’t remember saying that. There’s a lot of things I don’t remember. It’s extremely not personal.)

I don’t see Toronto’s best-shod man here, though.

The times I’ve, if not smoothly and suavely, but had no hesitation introducing myself was when somebody seems alone and stranded at an event I’ve helped organize. Yeah, no, I’m zooming right over.

This shocks me, because it occurring to me to introduce myself feels like a recent thing. I do remember being at ease around you, though. A very memorable feeling.

It’s just possible that I don’t enjoy book launches.

I was tired most of Saturday, but earlier in the day, I realized that SAT was right next to my hotel. I don’t think I got to see a lot of it. Next trip I’ll go during the day.

@phoebebovy.bsky.social Can I *finally* meet you in person at Franco-Fête? That’s the one interest that I’m 100% sure we definitely share.

This is mine as well. On the day my mother passed away, I couldn’t stop thinking about this scene.

This is a working holiday, so I’m calling it WFM (Working From Montréal). I’m a friend of the company that’s generously hosting me for a couple of days. It was their idea!

I had this view a few days ago and I hate it. Bus wraps are a scourge.

This is not the best way to get a first impression of a city from the window seat of the express bus between the airport and downtown.
