Ah, yes. And I'm a fish. I've called myself a fish for decades. It doesn't make me one, though.

Ok, I'm male, but 76. I'm happy going anywhere on the grounds that neither I nor anyone I know has been attacked. However, I'm in smallish UK town which is known to be safe. Unless your surroundings are v different you should find that the majority of people are actually peaceful souls. Be strong.

With the greatest of respect, the colour of someone's skin is the last thing I look for when choosing a book. About my own books; you're right that I should include more non-white characters, but at least my first, The Suspects, has a major Asian origin Muslim character in it from the start.

You might like to try "Yes, we live on a boat" by Richard Harbroe Wright. It's on Amazon - www.amazon.co.uk/live-boat-Ri....

So so I. That was when the Marina authority was operating the lock as a provider for CRT. Since then CRT have assumed responsibility, so here's hoping they're more helpful.

Try a double duvet or a huge lump of metal swarf. Especially in winter when you have to defrost your hands with monotonous regularity.

That's us this June, this time ensuring that Limehouse is warned before the day. It's uncomfortable being moored to the outside pontoons between tides because the Marina had to do all its paperwork checks before they would open the lock! Which they couldn't because by that time the tide was too low.

Why can there not be just The Bathroom, one that anyone can use? It happens in every house, as far as I know.

Monica Edwards, of whom few will have heard. She set books in real places, usually, and allows young people's characters and abilities (and bravery sometimes), to shine through. What is more, she doesn't condescend to them. I tried it in "The Suspects" which people say they enjoyed.
