We received an update from the rehab center. Unfortunately, 2 of the chicks have passed, but the third is thriving in the incubator and eating. They've told us the reason for their early fledging may have had more to do with an ant invasion than our jostling the nest.

Unfortunately, the situation became more dire. I noticed the nest too late, and it was disrupted. The birds fell and were discovered by ants. We brought them inside in an incubator and then delivered them to a local wildlife rehabilitation center.
