Well, I also don’t sleep all the way through the night. I’ll sleep for an hour or two, wake up for two hours, and then fall back asleep for about three hours. It’s wild. But it also speaks to why I always sound like a half deranged old woman who feeds all the pigeons and squirrels in Lincoln Park.

And that’s good, because we are often taking calls until late evening and because Rick is an earlier riser, he burns out by 3. I keep going until I plotz.

I have always been more of a night person in general. I’ve always had a very hard time waking up early. Rick is a very early bird. Because we work from home, I can literally fall out of bed to start taking phone calls around 9. Not fully awake until 1. Most productive between 5-9 PM.

First half is DEAD wrong. Second part is PERFECTLY true. Meet me at the second bookshop on the right when you get to heaven. The one with all the gerbera daisies outside. That’s where I’ll be. I’ll order a tea for you and it’ll be just right for when you arrive.

If it’s happening in Kansas, it’s sure as shit happening on our streets, too. Especially on our streets.

I know one person, at least, is currently in federal custody and has at least one charge now, with potentially many more to follow. I do not know if that person is male or female and don’t want to speculate, even though my female senses tell me to blame a male in this scenario. Is that wrong too?

Same. The hospital has resources to help Aivah with the brainwashing she has experienced over the past several months. The road to healing and recovery will be long and arduous for them both. But at least they are both alive to do so.
comment in response to post
What this is really driving home to me is that this happens everywhere and always has. I was just incredibly naïve. If any of you have potential resources to help my friend through this, I’ll take every and any suggestion. She needs as much care as Aivah does.

They had a bag ready for her and told her they were going to get her to her “boyfriend” who lives in CT. The thing is, she didn’t have a boyfriend in CT. Doesn’t know anyone there. But she met this bf on Snapchat…the same place where this other man said he could help her get to this supposed bf.
