I feel like I would’ve been the dumbass who stapled receipts to Switch boxes.

If this is the first time anything good happens, fine, but I doubt it will be.

DFRC Threshold 4x 6min @ 8:50 6/6, 6/6, 3/6, 1/6, 16/24 total 67-76F heat index A hard one today. The shorter bursts come with two minute recovery periods between, and that’s harder for me. I’m very proud to have gotten both of the first 6. Heat was a factor today too, could feel it pressing.

I’m reporting life from the school field day, where the DJ just transitioned from Maryland favorite “Thank God I’m A Country Boy” to “Turn Down For What”

DFRC Base 42min @ 10:45 52:50 4.5 @ 11:44 62-72F sunny and breezy Developed severe left knee pain last night. Some of it went away overnight but I knew the run would hurt. The first half mile was very difficult but I did well through the allotted time. I’m trying to extend though.

So I guess the theme of Pride this year is “atrocities that remind us why Pride came to be in the first place”?

My wife has been reading cosy murder mysteries for years. Seems to really like podcasts about murder. Today she asked me to recommend tragic anime. I’m not sure this bodes well for me.

The Joss story is growing into such a vile condemnation of the human race that I wish it was unbelievable.

So many articles about how Ukraine didn’t tell the White House about their big mission, so few of them admitting that it’s because Trump is a traitor to all free peoples.

I’ve been watching the new Anne Shirley anime while I write lately. Never read the original novels, but we watched the 85 CBC adaptation a million times in the 90s. This version makes the wealth difference between Diana and Anne very clear in a way o didn’t notice in the 85 one.

DFRC Threshold 2x19min @ 8:50 Other crap RECORD! 1 mile 8:57:76 (previously 9:11) 60F Breezy and clear Great run on cool, crisp early October morning that just happened to fall on June 2nd. 22 of 38 threshold minutes at pace, including a monstrously encouraging 10 minute opener with the record.

My favorite part about @biffaplays.com videos is when the music gets extra funky.

DFRC Exhaustion Edition Long Run 1:57:00 @ 10:45 1:57:09 13:38 8.59mi 55-65F 73% humidity I didn’t manage a single full mile at pace today. I was cooked within a half mile. But there must be some value in struggling on for 2 hours when you’ve got ten minutes of energy, right? Right?

TACO TACO MAN! No one chickens out like TACO MAN!

I grew to really dislike King of the Hill. It was too grounded for my sensibilities, Bobby’s antics came to feel a bit too stupid, and I started really hating Peggy, who I thought was trying hard to ruin Luann’s life.

Anyway, DFRC BASE 42min @ 10:45 45:16 @ 11:26 4.00mi 63-68F 86-90% humidity A run that left me as wet as rain, complete with the draining effects of humidity sapping my endurance. Summer is surely here.

Durin’s Fok Running Club ANNOUNCEMENT: The 4 Months of Hell 4: Redemption Arc has officially begun. Despite temperatures in the high 60s at run times, +80% humidity is creating the hallmarks of early summer runs. With temperatures expected to rise markedly within the week, the time is now. 1/2

Man, TACO Tuesday is going to be very different next week.

DFRC Threshold 4x 7min @ 8:50 Warm ups and cool downs and shit too. 58:21 5.03mi 60F sunny Got 16 1/2 minutes of 28 at pace, which is less than I wanted, but still more than half. There were two minute cooldowns between bursts and I wasn’t getting my heart rate down enough. Also my nip bled

I’m over 90k words in my latest manuscript, the point at which I start fretting because the story will fluctuate wildly in length, sometimes 10-20k words, as I edit and settle things up.

The payment is in! I made 12¢ on my writing in the last 2 months!!

Durin’s Folk Running Club Aquatic Edition Base 42min @ 10:45 45:28 @ 11:15 4.04mi Windchill 44F steady rain throughout IT IS THE 28TH OF MAY AND I JUST RAN IN A HOODIE! It was a cold, wet, early spring type of run. I did pretty well considering I was dodging puddles throughout.

DFRC Threshold 2x 19min @ 8:50 2x 10min @ 10:45 5min @ 13:15 1:03:06 @ 11:41 5.40mi 55-63F A full 19 minutes at pace again on this one. Had more difficulty getting to pace, but maintained well. Trying out knee bands to help with pain.

My 11 year old goes camping, visits a Fort, and now I most of my afternoon making “soldiers bread”

Durin’s Folk Running Club “Base” 42min @ 10:45 42min @ 13:10 3.2mi Windchill (IN THE LAST WEEK OF MAY MIND YOU) 47F The spirit was barely willing, and the flesh pathetically weak. I had to make myself stop walking four times on this run because I had NOTHING.

DFRC Long Run 2:00:00 @ 10:45 2:00:09 @ 11:58 10.04 mi 50-57F windchill This was a tough run in a could of ways. I didn’t have a lot of pain, which helped, but I was low energy due to poor sleep and an early start. I kept threshold for the first 3/4th until flagging late.

Durin’s Folk Running Club UPDATE: So, apparently, it’s going to be below 80 for at least the next week, but it’s also my summer time. So, I guess I don’t know when my 4 Months of Hell 4 will start. Maybe I’ll soft launch it tomorrow because it’s a long run.
