my soul left my body watching the fox news feed glitching out as the tanks roll past the president’s observation stand and the announcer’s voice echoes across the mostly empty streets, “special thanks to our sponsor, palantir”

To know how much force it exerts when colliding with something we’d need to measure how long it takes before the wheelset and car stop moving relative to each other, which I can look into tomorrow.

But for simplicity, 3750 kg (nearly twice as heavy as a Ford F150) at 65 mph ~= 29 m/s would have a kinetic energy of ~1.58 megajoules, and that energy is applied over a very small area compared to a car.

When they hit the pavement, the wheelsets are slowed down somewhat relative to the ground (/gain speed relative to the cars behind the truck), but it’s probably not quite as bad as colliding with a heavy thing that’s actually stationary (moving at 65 mph relative to the cars).

We do now understand why this happened - it was the choice by the authors to remove the story, because the Index on Censorship chose to be complicit transphobes and work with the "LGB Alliance": bsky.app/profile/jwsa...

There are probably multiple who consider themselves to fit this criteria, but I don’t know of any leftists who do.

Jeez that sucks, I’m sorry. Despite the userbase currently being less bad compared to twxtter, my impression of bluesky is that unfortunately it suffers from the same issues as a place for discourse: by the nature of its design, it destroys context and thrives on conflict and hostility.

Okay, but what were his thoughts on the color yellow itself?

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. It probably would not have been as widely popular as it is if it were more openly anti-conservative, but damn.
