The chunk of society that think universities only do "woke DEI" have not connected the dots about the life changing research that happens there. Not sure where they think it does happen...Big Pharma labs, I guess, which they also appear to want to shut down..

Heard her on a couple of @roxanegay.bsky.social and Trsssie McMillan Cottom's podcast on Luminary awhile ago. Worth going behind the paywall for, it was a great podcast.

Oh geez, I hadn't realised WP was also a dumpster fire. I'd recommend Shorthand but it's not cheap and doesn't really replace full website functionality (depending on your needs).

I don't disagree - some speechwriters I know are technophobes, but they do their homework. The good ones do not want teir speakers looking clueless.

Thank you. My late grandmother once said she overheard a shocking number (to her, a privileged white woman) of racist remarks while at rehab post- knee replacement. Mostly from those of her generation.

That came up when we were browsing films earlier and I passed in favour of Rivals. Is it worth watching?

There are some links within on how to listen to it; BBC iPlayer is easiest if you're in the UK. Merry Christmas!

She is the real deal - gave a smashing talk to the uni LGBTQ network last year and was very inclusive + pro-trans. Big

Interfering with shoplifters and posting about it afterwards are not things I would ever entertain doing, for so many reasons. But I'm equally fascinated by the person who phoned the cops about Luigi Mangione; an innate snitch? Just for the money?

I have feelings about shoplifting from my retail days but it's a complicated picture of disadvantage, drug addiction as well as it hitting slightly different for an indy retailer vs high street megalith. Even if it was a shop owned by "cut their hands off" types. 🙃
