Also interesting: The boundary layer diverter that may need to be powered by bleed air to work.

The baggage compartment may have made room - at least partially - for the conventional main landig gear visible in this new rendering of the freighter version.
Begs the question where the baggage goes. 🤔

The new rendering that no longer shows a door for a baggage compartment next to the wing.

China already has an effort underway to create an end-to-end domestic supply chain. They‘ll get there, no doubt.

How would hybrid electric propulsion change the marginal economics that make regional aviation <70 seats a niche business? 🤔

The market is big enough for three, or can we even say too big for two?

I stopped right at „aims to massively disrupt…“
I still have PTSD from looking at Otto‘s last disruptive innovation attempt.

Renderware.
At least it‘s looking more the part than Otto‘s previous Celera.

From a twelve-month window to a nine-month window is a “HUGE“ improvement? Mmkay…

Not the only crack in the investment narrative. If the demonstrator won‘t be pressurized beyond the flight deck, there will be no risk reduction and no gain in development leadtime towards an eventual commercial product. A lightweight, producible BWB-shaped pressure vessel is a key challenge.

Not long ago Jetzero touted the pivot landing gear as a key enabler for a single-deck BWB, in turn a key enabler for a small BWB with 250 seats.
Now an MD-11 main landing gear goes where the cargo bays were, and the luggage goes into the cabin? 🤔

Also, it is the only one that is a conversion, is multi-engine, has variable pitch props and non-reciprocating engines, hydraulics, pressurization… 🤓

Took me 4 hours to assemble the first one, and 2 hours for the second. I have an idea for a simple tool to ease the work. 🤓
