Guy coming tomorrow to endoscope the sewer line to find out whether there is a leak between the house & the worm farm, then to tell me where, in fact, the hell, the 2 drains under the barn actually come out
Also had garage-door-guy a while back, "replace those springs before they take your head off"

Aye, didn't doubt it for a moment, the "you" was that mad generalised one, as in, "you don't have to be crazy to vote for them, but it helps"

Exactly
They also need to have conversations with the commanders of each and every federal military facility in their state to ask some carefully worded, but very clear questions about how far they will go to support a coup

As long as failure to have it switched on when they leave the station or the car, and "losing the file" are both instant dismissal offences, or, at the very least, "no video, no arrest/charge"

In his fevered mind they goose-stepped past his platform in their dress uniforms, blanco'ed and polished, glittering with pride, snapping eyes to the POTUS, crisp salute sharp enough to take an eye out, the whole 9 yards
Instead, that disheveled, desultory, sullen shuffle
Glorious

The truth is, you can vote & still be angry.
You can fight for change inside & outside the system.
Voting isn’t loyalty. It’s a tactic, every tactic matters.
Vote with purpose. Organise with heart. Keep demanding more.
If you’re looking for a reason, kaupapa, or why…Mokopuna future is ours.

I wish it WAS funny, I wish it was some false flag satirist mocking MAGA
But it's not, it's a deluded, disconnected cognitively disintegrating human being whose world is dissolving around him who genuinely believes that shouting loud enough will stop the walls caving in
They need an intervention

There have always been nasty, evil, hateful suicidally stupid, future eaters, always
Giving them power over you, however, is a sign that you have given up on having a future as well.

I wish I knew what the answer was, because it covers everything from how we live at all to climate, pollution, resource depletion, species extinction, justice, equity, everything that matters
Species suicide by terminal distraction is not what I want on our collective tombstone

Hypnotism & evangelical religions do the same thing, I suspect with the same mechanism
Yes, some are actual assholes who deliberately spike a story, but that NOBODY among dozens of editors can "see" the story or its value is both coercive control and actual blindness

This is more true than many want to accept
Racism, misogyny etc are culturally acceptable, so when someone appears in the frame who "does not belong", it's not just individuals, it's the whole culture that loses its mind
Including journalists whose daily bread is owned by the culturally endorsed

Child: What did you do today daddy?
Cop: I protected the capitol building from a terrorist
Child: Wow, did you have to dodge bullets and heroically crash tackle him before he detonated his suicide vest? I 'm SO proud
Cop: Well, no, I followed behind him pushing his walker
Child: His WHAT THE FUCK?

Might be nice, and useful, if those who want to make a claim about something posted at least the link to their source, even if it's only your mechanic's husband's hairdresser
No links, no cred

Fascism is not an ideology or a political movement, a philosophy or a religion, it is a disease of the social fabric that arises when the conditions are right
There are pathogenic bacteria in all soil, but they only explode into disease in compromised systems, no matter what they were before

Interesting though. I used to change flats maybe once or twice a year as a matter of course until about 2000, I've had one tyre run soft for too long and needed replacing but not a single flat I've had to change on the roadside
Maybe they checked my history and decided, meh, we can do without
