I feel like I'm reading a parody of an economics textbook--as though Mankiw has merely "committed to the bit."

Clearly, sleep is for the weak. Just manhandling that shit.

Notice I take a wider stance on these than on my conventional, and that puts my knees directly behind my elbows, preventing me from fudging some leg drive into the mix, but also giving me tactile feedback on my positioning. Also brings my hips a bit lower, I suppose.

Some decent #hypertrophies, I'd say.

Sean Noriega had similar advice specifically for the hookgrip, but I believe the idea was to grip as low as it was already likely to shift in order not to lose energy by that slippage. Also, to not tear up your hands in the process. Anyway, I found the tip invaluable.

I've come to feel that while linear periodization works just fine for a while, eventually it just becomes an opaque version of RPE training, which I doubt will ever suit my temperament. This max effort shit, on the other hand, seems ironically like a better means of enforced submax training.

Yeah, I was living life touching 180 like I was in a Michelangelo painting, but now I'm getting devoured in the Garden of Earthly Delights.

Yeah man, I weighed in a meager 173 today for the first time in weeks and blame the heat (and working in the heat, etc.).

This is a bit light yet, but not a bad start. Gonna back this off with 265x2x5 and then see what I can get at that weight for goodmornings (probably a couple sets of 12-16). Tendinitis is still such that powercleans are off the table, unfortunately.

Iria would be a close second, chronologically speaking.

Hookgrip was a bit raw for the 80% (335) submax backoff I did after, but it was bearable enough. Now onto my weighted situps (now up to +75) and my "Roman chair" unweighted sidebends, which I only just subbed in place of the high rep dragonflags.

Finally going to spring for these badboys to add to my rogue's gallery of bumper plates. Should fix me.

Incidentally, since none of this material had been organized into a playlist, I took the liberty:
