Oh! And Art Irazawa — Fuji from the Super Dave Osborne show — was a regular customer at the cookware shop I worked at in early 90s Vancouver.

- Walked past King Charles III (when he was the Prince of Wales) as he left some function on Bay St in Toronto - Was behind Tom Selleck and an actor from Hill Street Blues on Robson St in Vancouver. Bunch of dudes on the patio did a bro-capella version of the Magnum PI theme as they walked past

I have Diamine Earl Grey and I find it pretty hard to read.

On a brighter note, I quite enjoyed “The City of Tears”!

When articles of that latest video took (Google Veo or something) started popping up a couple of weeks ago, I thought, We’re so fucked. So many people are going to be duped by this stuff. And the worst people will exploit it to no end.

Blame the smoke. You couldn’t see the calendar.

It took me *years* to get around to reading it, and I'm glad I did. Sent me down a rabbit hole to learn more about French politics in the 50s/60s.

Figuring out dinner is one of the worst things about adulthood. No one tells you you’re going to have to do this for the rest of your life. Ugh.

Seems odd to me that RW folks would prize JRRT that way, given the whole “peoples banding together to defeat a would-be tyrant” thing. But…don’t like grimdark? Don’t like romantasy? Ok. So…read something else then ffs. I know, I know, the performative outrage is the point etc. Ugh.

That’s sounds cool. I had the first edition and leaned towards Canadians (like me) or other non-US NATO members. Hell, even a Czech who was still mad about ‘68.

I still have the Imperial March (aka the Darth Vader theme) play when my ex calls. It’s just for the lol, really. My ex is a lovely person.

I just discovered Side Questers! What a treat. Also: “Cyndi the Lopper” is genius.

Seems like we could use some civics lessons again. Everywhere. People don’t understand how government works anymore.

A few years back I ran D&D 5e for my kid and his neighbour pals (all around 11 or 12) on the back deck after school on Fridays. Chaotic but so much fun. To this day we still talk about Jeff the half-orc and Tim, the surfer goblin NPC.

Anyone else hearing Ultravox’s “Dancing With Tears in My Eyes” in their heads right now?
