It will poison a team and you lose good talent on behalf of someone who doesn't actually want to learn more but wants to be seen as the GOAT.
They often affect hiring decisions too, so you will never actually have the team you could have because of ego.

All is well, thanks. Nothing broken, just a bit of a smack. The hospital gave my mum a leg brace to help ease the pain, but she's otherwise ok
