I had this with Lee Mack's 'Not Going Out'. I was certain it was finished, but now there's a new series??

Ohhh, I will save this one for later. I'm one of those who fell into Coil via Keenan's book. So interested in your views!

RIP Brian Catling, whose death I only learnt of (ashamedly for myself three years after the fact) through the numerous tributes in the book

Yeah same. I'll just crawl the coast and see what pops up along the way

I'm heading that way in 2 weeks. Staying at a caravan park near Rochester with family. Also got Reculver on the cards! Anything else beyond visits to Margate & Broadstairs you'd recommend?

Was on school run today & I had the stare recognition that Muse are going to talk about discovering AI with same fervour + ubiquity as the Beatles talked about LSD.
"Matt's dentist sideloaded it onto our band tablet and insisted we ask it how many f's are in coffee and then tell it it was wrong".

I, for my sins, quite like Muse. Especially bad Muse. So I'm all in for it.

Gotta imagine Muse in the full-on AI era is going to go places (down) and it's going to be beautiful

Unimpeachable indeed. My Dad had this Bryan Ferry 3 CD collection that I'd nab when it wasn't in the car. I made Roxy Music pretty much my entire musical identity from 15 to 18.

What's the 7.5 dotted line meant to indicate? Usually that'd represent an AVG, but seeing as these are the top ones, that wouldn't make sense?

It's the elongated droughts that upset me. Everything looks so dead in May.

Sounds like the opening sample to Bowie's 'station to station' haha

Ended up in Miami, then got sent back and sold in London. Last I heard some artist in America bought it and planned to destroy it in protest.

I remember living in Wood Green in 2012 when a Banksy got put on the side of a Poundland on Whymark Avenue. We had film crews from all over Europe there & then maybe two days later walking home we saw a few guys working around it. Assumed they were protecting it. But nope, ripped right out the wall

Gorija (without having heard their latest record), Remembrance, Backbone, A Sight to Behold,& l'enfant Sauvage. Each from diff album and after a quick check in rotation on setlists. Enjoy!! I'm insanely jealous

I completely forgot the section on the Hammersmith nude murders. Absolutely vital writing.

This was the big Q in the GC. When's the narration back?! Happy to hear it's on its way. Next project sounds interesting! He give any more details?

No. But that's a really good idea

And even saying this, I couldn't tell you with any certainty that I've listened to it all the way through or even heard all the tracks. Both somehow can be true and that feels unique to music. The broader set of the 'album' can fuel more to the listener than just the individual tracks themselves.

Yeah, it's a personal observation. I just find them both feeling a bit empty, like a part of the imaginative strength wasn't there. Perhaps the countries / themes aren't the connective tissue, but it's the feeling I had coming out of them.

I like Watchmen and by no means want to gatekeep Moore to matters of Britain, but I (personally) find his stories set in America (incl. Providence) less convincing and interesting. Something about it just doesn't gel with his political edge. I'd take V for Vendetta and most of League over Watchmen.

Absolutely, very few books come close for me. Enjoy the ride.
