Some people have all the luck

Happens to me at least once a week

I find this so naive. The thinking is that Americans couldn't have chosen this, so the mainstream media must not have informed them what they were voting for. But the mainstream media did tell them, and Trump voters either didn't read it or didn't care. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Two cheers for STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW and GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK, which both prove you can make a bangup show, or at least a reliable audience-pleaser, without a good play.

If Republicans in Congress don't want the District of Columbia to become a state, the absolute least they could do is stop treating it like a colony. (gift link)

The fake pope memes are depressing evidence that the left is as easily manipulated as Trump voters are.

Will they put people in prison for saying there should be fewer people in prison?

All forms of ID in the United States should indicate whether the person ever watched "The Apprentice" for more than five minutes.

Driving would be a lot more chill if we had more car horns that meant different things. One for 'thank you' and one for 'sorry, my bad'. We went too hard at the beginning by only putting in the 'FUCK YOU' horn

Biden's pullout after his disastrous debate was one of the two biggest political stories of 2024. I want to know more, not less. The way that story was handled by the press, by Biden's aides and by Biden himself is why we've descended into this authoritarian hell.

New York Times continues to set unreachable standards

Cops don’t usually wear masks. Nor do FBI or DEA agents. So @willbunch.bsky.social asked a DHS flak why immigration enforcers are wearing them, often while out of uniform. Her response is … unconvincing. www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

This means you can link to evidence of what the pope said instead of sharing fake memes.

This kind of thing is why legitimate law enforcement carries badges with an identifiable number on it, identify themselves, present warrants, etc. Without that, there's no way of knowing it isn't one of these guys.

Come on people, show the tiniest bit of skepticism when you see an unsourced meme. www.snopes.com/fact-check/p...
