Public hearings will be on July 8 and 9. Comment period is open on this very stupid rule. Please weigh in, especially if you have discipline expertise.

Let me explain John. Miasma is bad air. You can avoid breathing bad air by holding your breath while completely submerged in poo water.

The hydrogen fuel cell vehicle was launched a decade ago and has sold like 30,000 cars total because it makes no sense and will never compete with battery electric vehicles.

I’m pretty sure even ChatGPT would refuse to offer a variation like this.

Right‽ Instead of just letting hard working immigrants lovingly feed us, take care of our kids, etc while contributing to social security through payroll taxes, it somehow makes sense to spend tens of thousands per abducted immigrant to jail them, try them, and fly them to some random other country?

Also completely ignoring the absolute need to electrify gas appliances, transportation, and industry (note the conceded point that CCS is too expensive), which will vastly increase EGU share of GHG emissions and therefore its “significance.”

I suppose the challenge is to co-locate the use with the generation. Once you rely on transmission to get the power to the end use, you have to oversize the transmission as well.

Yeah. I thought so too. Back on the old site I got very tired of the green Bitcoin folks using that as an argument that the technology is good actually. Of course we could also desalinate water, pull carbon from the air, or do any number of other more socially useful things with the energy.

Even when there is enough battery storage to close down nearly every gas power plant, there will still likely be more solar generation than can be used up by charge cycles for many parts of the year. It's not an opportunity that goes away.

What would Murray Bookchin think about the abundance agenda?

It’s like an imaginary shortcut for doing the actual hard work of righting the imbalance of power by progressively taxing wealth and income and strengthening organized labor. It may be well intentioned and could do some marginal good, but ultimately it is solving the wrong problem.

This is especially true for small island communities without freshwater reservoirs and where saltwater is encroaching on water tables and wells as sea levels rise.

This is the only plausible scenario that could lead to his election as president. He left his name off but we all know what he’s doing here.
