I suggest you should draw up terms of reference, convene a committee and set them the task. To ensure durability, the committee's decision would need to be final, binding and unanimous, of course.

See the Venice Convention on Referendums, item III.8, to which convention the UK is/was a signatory, and which convention the Tories merrily ignored for short-term electoral gain at the cost of the economy and the UK’s relationships with its neighbours.

Sloppy thinking. Please check item III.8 “Effect of Referendums” of the Venice Convention on Good Practice of Referendums, to which the UK is (was?) a signatory, and adherence to which may well have prevented the resulting Brexit clusterfu*k.

Small point, but I believe “vaccine skepticism” and “vaccine critic” should be replaced with “vaccine denial” and “vaccine denier”. The former words lend plausibility to disinformation, while the latter are accurate.
Thank you for your work.

It’s not “vaccine skepticism”, it’s “vaccine denial” - in this game, words matter.

Thanks - haven't seen the excellent Chris Murphy before, but his point is good - #47 is erecting barriers principally to bully smaller economies to assure fealty and quite possibly to allow him to license exemptions for his personal benefit. See #47's parallel halting of FCPA enforcement.

Do you believe it's possible that the tariffs are intended to erect barriers to politically or financially disloyal suppliers while allowing for exemptions to politically or financially loyal suppliers?

The use of the definite article in English is a translation holdover from the strange meaning of Ukraine and its associated grammar in Slavic languages. The name of the country in English is ‘Ukraine’ and not ‘The Ukraine’.
