I would like to remind the class that it was Biden's admin that tightened asylum laws. This goes far deeper than "shoulda voted blue lmao idiots".

Oh, I'm well aware, and Nintendo as a company is absolutely crashing out as of late, but as far as specific projects go, I haven't seen much. Also, that's a relatively recent development compared to both Disney's and Pokemon's storied histories of takedowns.

I'm not so sure about that. I could see Disney trying to twist this into some sort of anti-Fair Use precedent.

I mean, I've seen all sorts of fanmade Mario projects out there, among other things, and never heard anything about them being taken down. Meanwhile, Pokemon's fan project takedown hitrate is near 100% by this point.

Not to say anyone should've voted for Trump, but voting means nearly nothing when your choices are bad or worse. Americans need to get off their asses and protest harder than ever, not that we'll have much choice as our economy continues to tank.

Given the several bomb threats at ballots and Putin blatantly stating he would be interfering with our election, I heavily suspect people damn well tried. Even if she won, though, she's a cop, and at best would've just delayed the inevitable, or at worst cracked down with ICE as well.

Nevermind that many of the people they kidnapped already DID have their paperwork on them and they just ignored it. My family and I live in Germany and we intend to ask our Department of Foreign Affairs if or when they will issue a travel warning for the US.

Oh, through very thorough investigation, I'm sure.

seems to be getting a lot of eyes. hi, we are mox. we're a queer artist trying to make a living through this mess, while balancing a voluntary profit model. it's pride month. here's some stuff.

I'm not sure. To my understanding, Nintendo is mostly hands-off with Pokemon. TPC tends to handle a lot of the branding stuff, which I would guess includes securing copyright. Plus, I've never seen or heard of Nintendo issue takedowns of fangames personally, let alone to Pokemon's extent.

I only wish the class action lawsuits got to it before The Mouse did.

Say what you will about The Pokemon Company, but at least they typically just left it to C&Ds. Disney is terrifying.

the confidence to think the "suing independent day cares for having mickey mouse painted on the wall" guys wouldnt be mad enough to bring legal action is staggering

They will if they're the ones who own the app. Anything to further gut animators' rights and wages. They just don't want some upstart company having it.

The big corps don’t want to pay Midjourney to generate stuff. They want to build their own Midjourney and replace actors and animators 😒

Personally, if I had a machine that egregiously and blatantly violated copyright, I wouldn't have a public "explore page," because the copyright holders might publish 18 pages of examples of me violating their copyright. Suit also includes tons of Reddit guides to doing so too. Oof!

The suit includes the legal definition of Shrek

"Bad news, everybody. We are being sued by Sauron, and somehow there's also another Sauron. They're also working together"

Those two things are less often antonyms than people think. An inflated ego rarely has anything more than hot air inside it.

man oh man, I wonder why Musk wants the mainstream press to stop writing about the Trump/Epstein connection
