LAPD unlawfully issuing orders to press today ("MEDIA GO!"). California Penal Code 409.7 explicitly exempts journalists from dispersal orders. LAPD knows this and command staff has been trained on it.

I stopped celebrating “Canada Day” when I found out July 1st,1923 was the day the Chinese Exclusion Act came into effect. I see July 1st as a day to commemorate the injustices that colonialism imposed on Indigenous people,such as,residential schools. It’s just another work day for me.

DACA was widely popular at first, despite growing Tea Party resistance (which took root in the broader right-wing backlash). Then in 2014 the first of the modern “border crises” hit and Obama leaned into being tough on migrants, while continuing to limit ICE enforcement internally.
