Totally agree. Showing off their obscene wealth, whilst billions suffer from disease and starvation across the world. But it's ok because the US is about to give Bezos a huge tax break, so he can have even more money he couldn't spend in a million years of living.

It's the political 'othering' of minority groups which is the strength of the right. Distract workers with stories of how their problems are created by minorities, whilst syphoning off wealth to their paymasters.

We could also stop selling arms, propping up oppressive regimes, and generally creating the conditions which create refugees. P.s. I agree with your points about smuggling gangs and safe routes, but to a large extent they're the symptoms not the cause.
